Housing Item Capacity Upgrades Please

Please let us buy capacity upgrades. I want to make the most out of my room at the Rosy Lion, but am limited to only 30 items. The loading screen ESO uses of this room shows (in view) over 60 items. I kinda feel cheated.

ESO+ is double capacity. They want to give an incentive subs because it is a far more reliable income than crown store sales.

I have ESO plus. So, if I didn't I could only put 15 items in my room? That's horrible.

General agreement, here. 8 collectibles and 40 trophies for a large home? Maybe ZOS is short on storage on their servers, too much memory being used up in housing? Just a thought.

Something that might help capacity issues would be if BUILDING MATERIALS were a separate category, the way collectibles are. Say you use blocks or planks to divide a larger space into smaller ones: with building materials counting as "items," that could take up 20 slots or more, making it harder to actually decorate those rooms you created.

It also doesn't seem right, especially in the smaller houses, that every single plate, fork and spoon and cup should count as an item.

If capacities were larger (as they should be), or even if we could buy more space, these things might not be an issue. As it is, now, it doesn't seem right that a block of stone or a fork counts the same as a bed!

I can't believe that "server space" is an issue, because it's just numbers and data at their end. All the graphics are housed on our own computers.

Now matter how it's addressed, the capacities of the houses are really egregiously low. I'm butting up against the 100 item barrier in Twin Arches, and the place looks half-empty.

Everyone agrees. We have been asking this since a month before launch when we tested homestead on the PTS.

The current item limits are too low, even with subscription, and completely ridiculous when considering square footage of housing.

A small house has a 100/200 item limit. Then a house 10x bigger, with 10x more decorating space, has an item limit only 3x bigger. People with Medium and Large houses are stuck with partially decorated space having to make aesthetically unpleasing sacrifices all for nothing.

The REAL problem is there is no way to highlight this issue. We have asked and asked but if ZOS wants to turn a deaf ear, there is no way to either petition (against the TOS) or get more visibility on this issue.

There was even an thread where people were willing to pay CROWNS for upgrades, but ZOS won't even take our money. This is the single biggest problem with homestead (other than functionality/invisible walls) and needs to be addressed.

I have to agree, I would like the option to purchase more space. If you don't need it don't buy it. I have a couple dozen homes and some are adequate for me, but for example Craglorn Earthtear is 700, which is enough to put the basics in such an wonderfulllly huge space, but most of us are about extremes not basics. We want to farm the mats to make stuff, get the achievements for special items, buy fun things from the luxury merchant, and steal what we can only find in the pockets of others.

I had a grand vision of the Cavern as a guild house to represent all the races of Tamriel, a PVP salute, crafting areas, tree-house, thieves den out across the water, and a art gallery in the back. However I had to really curtail a large portion of my construction because of limits. I would totally have plunked quite a bit for crowns to expand, still will, if it becomes reality.

Wow, everyone agrees to a very modest, reasonable, and logical request for ZOS.

Now ZOS gets to ignore it again and this thread will drop off the front page, like every storage thread before it, and nothing changes.

Finally bought Autumn's Gate with gold, and noticed that all the stones along the walkway and plants counted towards the limit..so I had to do some weeding around the property. Actually, that's my first house purchase.. taking homestead very slow lol.

I agree that we could use more slots but you kind of argued yourself into a circle there. As you said each item is just a number. That basically means the game sees no real difference in a fork or a boat.

It has been hinted at that more space might be in the future? The current limit being a conservative setting so that they can better determine how more stuff might impact.

We need more! Why is this ignore start tagging everyone I'm at 700/700 and still need at least 100-200 more slots small items can they please count as .5 slots? Does not seem unreasonable an answer on why the low limit would be great these manors are huge and I have empty rooms

Yes PLEASE put in more slots! Im full up on everything and the house still feels half empty, plus I cant put out all my trophies or pets, really need to increase the capacity across the board.

Agree. I had to leave empty areas and have very little decorations to stay below 700 limit. The house is half of what i want it to be. I use now big items to replace few smaller. Only e.g. a table in center has something on top while all side tables are empty.

All vegetation outside is pulled close to pathways and areas behind are empty. I have already pruned vegetation and replaced small plants like ferns with e.g. one wine to cover larger areas, or put trees horizontally underground to look like several bushes. It's rather stupid thing to do just to stay under an artificial limit.

The books and bookshelves need a complete redesign. I have all the bookshelves empty and less than ten books scattered around on tables. I think the bookshelves should be loadable and smart, like some mods in Skyrim, and books inside bookshelves should not count in into total amount of items. Merely it should be like Redguard arched/full bookshelf. They both are same item but full bookshelf looks like filled with books. The bookshelf should be clickable to browse the content. You know, storage, eh?

My issue with this is I already bought all the DLC, I don't need the XP boost as my characters are all levelled up and I manage inventory fine without the craft bag.
So I would be paying monthly just to decorate a house and get some crowns I don't really need.
300 item limit in a large house is really bad.

I love my Strident Spring home, and everyone I've invited over <3s it too. Alas, I'm at the item limit with 3 rooms totally empty, and a ton more I'd like to do with the outside. Yes, I'm an eso+, and no, 600 items is not even remotely close to enough. I'd need double that for Strident Springs to get where I'd be totally happy I think. 1000 would allow me to be satisfied for a bit at least.

Yes, I have other houses I've bought with both gold and crowns, but I don't really like having all of my homes half decorated.

My earthtear cavern is maxed out with 700/700 and there is still huge spaces that are left empty and more than half the spaces are lighting because you need so many lights to make the place visible at night. Also the invisible walls on the ledge to the right in the cavern is unnecessary. I could use that space for some truly creative ideas. My home looks badass but with both areas near the waterfalls painstakingly bare and the little islands near the entrance have virtually no use. Very little can be placed on them that look aesthetically pleasing except statues your not going to place a wardrobe on some random spec of land. I will give props to them for making the 2 secret ledges in the back accessible. I think I actually found where the "retired master assassin" would have his quarters. Money. Not spending Crowns on furniture. Not spending Crowns on Mundus Stones. Not spending Crowns on limited time furniture to just store it away. Some people buy pets from Crown Store to place in thier homes.
Sales being missed.
70 books on shelves..... Not removing the books. It took hours to place shelves and each book individually. Books need thier own category or be seen as sets.
Don't know what server issues that may delay and item count upgrade.F.Y.I. many are buying houses with game gold to store the items that they can't fit into thier primary homes. Many of these homes will be abandoned as the items in them are moved to the primary home. These houses will not be forgotten and may generate sales later since they are already purchased but not while they are being used as storage. Good strategy to force sales of other homes but now they need to be cleared out for new items.
Opinion: The people that spend the most money in the crown store on home items have thier houses already full and need more items allowed. Some of these people may lose interest and that means lost money.
