PLEASE help me with my DPS build!!

So I'm a High Elf Nightblade using Magicka to try and be DPS. Currently level 29.
When I go and do DPS I'm literally only hitting around 1200-1500 for Spells and my AoE path of darkness only hits for like 800-900 each second.
Magicka: 25,458
Magicka Recovery: 1,777
Maximum Health: 15,266
Spell Damage: 1,225
Spell Crit: 10%
Weapon Damage: 1092
Weapon Crit: 10%
I have no idea what I'm doing wrong but I'm not doing very much DPS at ALL.
If you guys could PLEASE help me that would be amazing. This is my first character on this game and I've gotten a ton of help from my guild regarding gear and such, but can't figure out why my DPS is so low.

✭✭✭✭✭You're level 29, I'd reckon your problem lies right there.
Some general pointers though:
-always weave a light attack between spellcasts. For magicka nightblade that's usually strife
-keep dots stacked on the target. Cripple + path + elemental blockade + destructive clench

✭Well for one you don't seem to be using the thief mundus stone. That will add crit chance. Other than that, get to cp160 and then worry about it. It's probably due to your gear and lack of passives.0 -
