I can only think of 3 reasons to EVER kick anyone from a normal dungeon:

    1. The AFK guy
    2. The DPS weenie who thinks he has invented a clever way to jump to the front of the queue by ticking his tank and healer toggles when he can't do either
    3. The toxic elitist moron who wants to kick lowbees just because

If you can't solo a dungeon, no matter if normal or vet, you suck, l2p. There's only a handful of dungeons that are impossible or hard to solo. I would expect no one to solo vCoS, for example, even though it's possible and has been done. However, I would expect everyone to duo any dungeon, considering that there is at least one other player in the party that is somewhat experienced and knows the mechanics. And that's almost always the case in group finder.

I only use the kick function when the queue pops and I instantly see a kick vote. Then I ask, "Why kick?" and some CP561 smart ass goes, "Low CP." That's when I use my votekick and message him with "l2p scrub" afterwards. B)

As a matter of fact, I have duo'd vICP, vWGT and vCoS (last one not on HM) with group finder pugs before that were all far below max CP after everyone else had left the group or got kicked by me for being ***, trying to kick the low CP.

If my 720 CP all gold gear character can't carry anyone through a normal group dungeon, then I should quit the game. Had an example two days ago of a guy trying to kick a lowbie, I and the other person voted no, so the complainer quit and we finished with just us three anyway. If someone is new and willing to learn, I'll run with them regardless of level or CP. I actually enjoy the hard runs far more than the cakewalks anyway.

Exactly. Bitching about lowbies in vet dungeons is one thing, but normal? Is that really a thing?

There's a few dungeons with mechs that prevent solo runs (probably a clever way around a few, but I don't know them), like FGII with the pin that must be interrupted, or WGT with the jail cells. You only need another person to clear those mechs. Otherwise it's a solo run for a high level player. What kinda person *** about low level players in normal mode PUGs, or votes to kick one from a normal mode run?

These types of threads terrify me. I have never played an MMO before. I am new to this game. I am new to the mechanics. I honestly don't even really know what champion points are, except a vague understanding of them. My highest character only hit about 36. (I got a new account after that so all my current toons are 12 or under). I want to play and enjoy the game for the story and scenery, not spend my time researching dungeons and builds. I play for fun.

A guildmate of mine queued for a random normal; got kicked pretty much immediately because the people he ended up grouped with were cp160+ and only wanted to farm for gear so his gear would be "useless" to them.

The first dungeon I completed, I finished at level 17 using zone chat to find a group for Spindleclutch I. I didn't have weapon swapping enabled because I didn't know HOW. I don't think anyone that ran it had done it before; we were all pretty low level. One of them was only level 10. We never wiped though one of the guys did die once. We beat it, traded armor, even friended each other because we had a pretty good time in there.

I'm part of a guild now with members that typically do dungeon runs to farm for gear. I'm online a far portion of the time, so I got taken along often on my old account; new one the toons are too new for me to feel confident doing any dungeons because I don't want to let anyone down. Anyway, I'm not sure, but I think they were doing randoms and then grabbing people to run 'em if they could find guildies to fill the spots. On one of our runs, our healer poofed in Fungal Grotto I before we even made it to the goblin chief. The three of us finished anyway though we wiped a couple times because none of the rest of us had any group heals. The only dungeon I've ever not completed was Fungal Grotto II; we kept wiping at Gamyne Bandu. I think only 1 of the 4 of us had even ever been in that dungeon before and we were just not getting the mechanics down so we finally called it. We still had fun (but again, that's what I'm playing for; not competition, not fast leveling, just whatever strikes my fancy that day). I never picked any of the dungeons; I just went along when someone asked me, though I made sure to make them aware that I'm not the best player.

Threads like this make me pretty much guaranteed to never attempt to use group finder. I'll just rely on my guild mates who won't berate me when I have no idea what I am doing or that I am a low level. People like this are the reason I've been scared to even try an MMO before and why I waited over a year after I tried the beta before I even purchased ESO. I like the game, but getting yelled at and spit on for not having the right build or the right level or the right abilities slotted is not my idea of a good time. It's also why I've never been done PVP.

My main is currently a low cp 300 magplar and I’m focused on DPS. I’ve just more recently be playing vet level pledges and some are obviously easier than others. I’m also more accustomed to stamplar, but converted to magplar to see which I prefer. In most cases I notify the group if I believe it is my first time on vet mode on that quest when we first start. Most people seem to appreciate it. Admittedly I was kicked from two vet pledges over the past few weeks, and I would guess rightfully so for their intent.

The first time someone from the group sent me a quick note stating something like “Sorry, had to boot you because your DPS was too low”. I responded with a quick “Understood and good luck”. The second time was this past week and one guy was just the biggest <insert adjective>. Telling the group to do what he says, etc. I’ve completed this quest on vet before, so I did not feel the need to notify the group of anything. We had no deaths until we get to the end and someone put us in hard mode without communicating to the group that was the plan. Well, I died. The insults started from this one guy and even continued after I was booted. In truth, I tossed a couple of responses back before he blocked me.
If you’re playing with a random group you need to expect different experience and skill levels. I would not mind if I walked into a dungeon and someone announces “Hi all, I’m an elite player and only want to play with people who are very experienced with this trial. If you’re not, I would ask that we split now.” Heck, I might chuckle behind my keyboard, but I fully understand there are different types of player out there with different goals in mind. I would respond with a polite “good luck” and find another group. Why should the less experienced players be the ones who feel obligated to announce their skill levels?

In some groups I’ve been able to help others and others help me learn different mechanics as well; it’s the best way to improve. I don’t boot someone because of their level, but I would boot someone for being inactive.

Learning to play in a trial or pledge is not only about learning your character, increasing you skills, having the best build and gear, etc. There is also something to be said about knowing that not everyone in your group is going to do/have the same. A few weeks ago I was in a group and one of the people did not know they were the healer, which became obvious quickly. After we asked in group chat someone finally said, “Oh, I forgot I listed myself as healer of DPS.” Although annoying, it’s a random group and you must expect those issues. Some people feel they know the “only way/best way to run the dungeon”. I was in a group a few weeks back where one player seemed to be frustrated with another player for not skipping a fight. Sometimes a group splits up too much and makes it harder for the healer. All problems one should expect from a random group.

    What I don’t like in groups is….
    • When everyone else is fighting and another person say “There is a chest over here” as they start opening it.
    • A few days ago someone announced they had to go to the bathroom just 2 minutes into the quest. They were gone for close what seemed like 10 minutes.
    • People who want to stop and inspect their new treasures after every kill and even chats “Does anyone need this” in group chat as we are much further along and now have to wait for him/her to catch up... often.
    • Lastly, when you obviously know there are some people doing the quest for the first time and you get to an area you feel needs explaining and you say, “Ok, lets cover a few of the mechanics” yet the lowest level person decides to engage the enemy by themselves to “learn as they go”.

That being said, I expect that in random groups.

Speaking of pledges, it would be nice to have three categories instead of normal and vet. I think an “elite” would be an appreciated tier.

    Enjoy the game…. Yes, it’s a game.

The group would work much better if there were level increments in the grouping.

    10-25
    26-40
    41-50
    CP 0-125

    You get the drift.

Also it would be much better if the player kicked was returned to the front of the queue if kicked 30 seconds after entering the group.

I have >680cp, yet sometimes I roll new chars out or boredom. I have never been kicked even when on a lvl 20 running random normal. I'm sure its because the groups quickly realize I'm still doing more dps than them. Often I find that cp max people are even less willing to learn than low level/ cp accounts.

But to the OP, doing a random is like playing Russian roulette, most of the time its fine. Yet, sometimes they blow up in your face.

Weekend again. It is times to feed this thread cuz a lot of lowbies and newbies will spawn in random tonight.
Again, kick the lowbies and newbies at the beginning. Don't feel guilty, it is not your fault, and it is not their fault. It's ZOS fault. We just have to do it cuz the dungeon is getting harder and harder, and we got skills nerf in every patch.

Did almost all pledges on random normals. Been in parties with 3 lowbies alot of times. Never lost a single dungeon, even the DLC ones. Someone needs to get better, learn to communicate better or just quit the game. Everyone has to start somewhere, elitism only serves to destroy games, mmos in particular. The only People I kick are those who voted to kick lowbies, and obnoxious, toxic, foul mouth spewing A Holes who abuse on others.

Why kick people at all in normal modes? Most of them (unless mechanics specify otherwise) are soloable atm anyway by anyone with a reasonable build

I have never had issues in random normal. they are so easy most players could run them solo and even for dlc dungeons 1 player to get the mechanisms and help you out is enough. No need to kick anyone in those.

Yesterday i kicked someone from vICP final boss. Cp190 who just kept dying. I voted maybe 3 or 4 times NO before the kick.
Still... I felt bad about it.

Few days ago i got the kick. Im cp701 atm.
Queued for vet random to get the xp. vCoS pops up, and its already started.
I thought that "Alright, im going to check this."
Tried to jump, says "Instance full", i wait for 30sec and retry. Party is already getting antsy and asking if im coming or not...
Party is at Sithera room, already killed the boss. We proceed to Khephidaen then. Theres one wipe, they ask me if i know tactics, i tell them that ive tanked vCOS once and im not too familiar with tactics.
    Aaand im gone...

While i was pissed at first, i believe that they just failed hard.
I can easily do 30+k dps single target. vMA in about hour, my best score is 500k.

    Lesson of the story:
Group finder is an endless source of frustration and anger.
Roll of the finder its like game of russian roulette. Don't roll it if you don't like getting shot in the head.

Don't be frustrated and pissed. Kick and being kicked is normal thing. Next time, you must kick ppl first at the beginning to make sure it is a pure random group, no friends or guild mates in the team.

Reminds me of the group normal I was healing where they tried to kick a level 28 at least 8 times.

What's funny is I was at max CP but they were cp200-350

In the end we completed the whole dungeon and I'm the one who died like 6 times, they all died a total of 6 and no wipes

People these days are a trip...and that was on Xbox one with no one doing voice chat or text chat
