Split megaserver to 4 RP-PVE, PVE, RP-PVP, PVP.

EDIT: What you people seem to not understand is, that we are allready existing on separate servers/instances of game world.. We are randomly thrown to one of them each time we log in and we never end up to a same instance. We are separate from our guilds and friends.

All this proposal would add, is that you are ablle to select one of each servers to play in, this will do nothing to performance at all.

What it will do, is yo send people to play with like minded players. Communities would benefit from this. It does not matter at all if players are evenly spread to servers or not, the more important thing is, that like minded people are playing closer together, they are more likely to meet players who like the same playstyles and will also be easier to make friends. There will be less clashing playstyles which will end to less griefing and less frustration because the other playstyles wont annoy there as much.

Many who play today, donot know that thjis was actually the intent of ZOS originally, to have questionaire in the in the beginning of game that would then send people to play with like minded people but it was scrapped due hasty launch and for the fact it was not even done yet. Never the less, ibtenbt was to have more than one "server".

ORIGINAL POST BEGINS:

I for one would choose to play in RP and RP-PVP servers.

I want more immersion, these two could be better moderated to ensure naimg integrity and good gehaviour like in LOTRO's laurelin. No farming zergs allowed.

PVE would practically be what it is now.

PVP would allow PVP everywhere in Nirn for those who like it.

Hardware and coding allready exists, all wwhat is needed, is to add those new to server list. Having people split to 4 servers could laso improve FPS as less players would be in one server, making less strain on performance.

Cyrodil would be same as it is now in every server option..

    The primary purpose of One Tamriel was to make it look like more people are playing the game. Does your suggestion help or hinder this?

    I'd join the rppvp server. Nothing more immersive then having to watch your back while out questing.

    TESO needs a wardrobe system badly. Something similar to WoW's tmog system would make this game one of the best mmorpg out there!

    They already separate people to different instances for server performance. And likely it would end up with worse performance. I doubt people would split evenly into each category causing 1 server to be overcrowded and the rest seem empty. You just have to learn to play with other people who may not play for the same reason as you.

    What we have now is great.

    And what do you propose for those who enjoy multiple aspects of the game? That they should have to grind in multiple servers just to enjoy more than 1 part of the game? I like to play pvp sometimes, but I also like pve and don't wish to pvp while I'm out killing mobs.

    Also I'm good with out having someone tell me what I can and can't name my toons. (Within reason, obviously I can't name it vulgar or offensive things)

    2. PvP world wouldn't be a simple request as you're asking for the whole game to be redesigned.....prob not happening as the "enforcer" ideas were cancelled.

    Yes, this is what i meant in simplier terms :)

    Anyway, PVP world does not need any redesign. All it needs to allow everyone to attack opposing factions players. Dueling allready happens, this means that players can be flgged for PVP in open world but it is called duel. These flags would just have to be active all the time. Other elements of the world do not need any change as we seen in other games with similar systems.

    The RP events I've wandered into are likely the reason there are no children in tamriel. I'm ok if you want to throw them into their own little corner

    Ummm no I guess you don't understand how servers work. We are not thrown into different servers from our guild. We are in seperate instances of the same server sometimes. I have ran into people from friends list quite frequently. So no we are not always separated and we are definitely not on seperate servers.

    It is just not a very good idea imo. And it seems to be the same opinion as others replying.

    What you seem to not understand is that there are never 4 instances of the same zone and there is probably not a zone that is always 4 instances.

    In other words, your suggestion would increase capital and operating costs without anything in return. An investment that would not bring revenue.

    Furthermore, the PvP zone would be merely a zone of convenience players will change to another zone when it's inconvenient making the PvP zone less populated and more boring.

    It's just not prudent.

    The theory behind RP PvP servers is that they're generally less "assholish" than standard PvP servers.

    The reality is that RP PvP servers tend to collect all of the PvP trolls and griefers into one place - specifically to grief and troll RPers.

    I find it amusing and at the same time, sad..

    People think it is ridiculous to suggest something that exists and works a a standard in many MMORPG's out there.

    One megaserver is meaningless as long as people are still spread to hundres of different instances of the world and phases of certain areas. All that current megaserver system does, is to segrevate players in to random instances of the gameworld so that nobody is actually in the same instance of the world as they were yesterday or last week.. Currently when you see a player and have fun with, talk, most propably will never be seen again. When people are less spread to multiple instances in one server, but spread to multiple servers, the same players will be in the same world every day, you will begin to know players by name and make more friends.. Guild are nice, but guild tend to be closed circles and have no interaction/communication between them.

    Basically the current megaserver is like World of Warcraft after cross realm stuff with same problems being here from launcgh that came with cross realming in WOW. Communities tend to be better when people know eachother, not so good when they end up to different instances and phases in total random fashion.

    I also dont understand the need to have random players running about.. Yes MMO is about many players online, this much is true, but i dont think those players really mean anything until we start to communicate with eachother. Players that run about minding their own businesses might just as well be NPC's with programmed behavioral patterns, just litle more robust than current NPC.

    When players really start to mean something, is when you get to know them, talk to them and that way, do stuff together while talking stuff. If you need a wworld boss done, just ask your friends or guildies

    I have quite an extensive friends list which most of players there are meaningless.. I dont see any of them in random occasion unless we actually plan to group up and do stuff together.. It would be much nicer to live in the same gameworld with my friends so we could meet at random occasion, seek eachother out if we see someone in certain area in our friends list. Currently, all my friend can be in the Glenumbra zone for example, but we would all be in different instances of glenumbra, can stand right beside each other but not see eachother ujnless we go to ourt friends list, see my friends are in glenumbra, ask each separately and group up. When we are spread to less instances of the world, perphaps even on one "realm" terms, we will always be in the same world wirth our friends and have the joy of having random meets with our friends and guildies without actually asking for it or takinhg a look at the friends list and teleporting to the friends instance(when at the same time, he/she can be teleported to someone elses instance if groupped.

    Current megaserver is worse for community than what i am suggesting.

    I disagree with your sentiment, mainly because it is false. I run into the same people all the time.

    I run into guild members and people from friends list alot. So your whole idea is based off false idea that we never run into people we know.

    Seems you are just changing your reasoning for this idea because most of the people replying don't like it.

    So you are wanting to segregate a playerbase that you say is already segregated. Creating multiple different rule sets for different instances will segregate the player base.

    If friend a picks one of your rules but I don't know it then I will never see him again.

    How do you propose we separate the countless guilds in game? If I pick one server will I be able to go back and forth between different servers? If so then how do you plan on enforcing your naming rule? If not, then what happens to the countless people who enjoy PvP and pve?

    This is just not a great idea, this also is not wow and I prefer it stay that way. If you want such segregation maybe you should play a game that is segregated like that

    The OP is taking this from WoW and I hated that about WoW, it was a dumb implementation. ESO is much better IMO. I just remember making friends IRL and not being able to play with them on WoW because we were on different servers. Ridiculous.

    Now if I meet someone IRL that plays ESO I can pop onto ESO and game with them.

    You can just travel to your friends or fuild mates and be put in the same instance and you can do you role play from there. It's fine the way it is. No one is keeping you from role playing.

    Cyrodill is supposed to be the war zone even though dueling has turned wayshrines and banks into them. If anything, the dueling needs to be reined in and kept out of busy populated areas for performance sake. They have a very nice and empty arena to use for that.

    It also wouldn't hurt for ZOS to reduce the population of each instance as well. Setting up multiple servers would be a waste of resources.
