I'm kinda lost - been months since I've played

ahampelb14_ESO
I beat the main story almost a year ago. Level 50 and just stopped. I started the new zone Stros M'kai. Should I just follow the quests like usual or should have I have a more focused goal? I'm getting curious about the new expansion and wanted to get back into it. Can someone point me in the right direction as to better prepare for what's to come? thanks

I'm a sorcerer - I didn't fill out most of the stuff but this gives an idea what I'm working with

    Just have fun.

You no longer have to play each zone to unlock or stay at the same level.

Each zone scales now so you shouldn't be outmatched anywhere.

Really your main goal is getting to cp160. That is the gear max. How you do it is up to you. Questing in your silver zone, dlc areas, dungeons, PvP, whatever. At cp160 then you can focus on gear grinding.

Just go where your heart takes you I open areas wayshrines world bosses, delves, areas of interest, dolmens before I actually will do quests.
Sorcerna, proud beta sorc. RIP April 2014 to May 31 2016 DArk Brotherhood. Out of retirement for negates and encases. Sorcerna will be going back into retirement to be my main crafter Fall 2018. Because an 8 k shield is f ing useless. Died because of baddies on the forum. Too much qq too little pew pew. 16 AD 2 DC. 0 EP cause they bad, CP 2300 plus 18 level 50 toons. NA, PC, Grey Host#SORCLIVESMATTER actually they don’t or they wouldn’t keep getting nerfed constantly.

IMO, it is more enjoyable to just play. Sometimes I farm or chase achievements but if I am not having fun, what is the point?

All the zones are now the same (max) level, with you being scaled to them rather than them to you, and there're no restrictions to going into different alliance zones now(and, as you may have noticed, the world is no longer split in alliance based shards, now ad, ep and dc can all be together in the same town in PvE world) so you can just enjoy the journey without having to worry about outleveling your zone or anything ;)

A few things to keep in mind - the way Battle Leveling works, it will scale you most effectively if the gear you use is as close to your level as possible, further away it is, worse your stats will be. So if you find yourself struggling, just make/buy/find some new gear of your current level, eat a food(there're some really nice recipes out there now too that scale to you whatever your level is, which is very convenient while leveling) and off you go!

Like been said, 160 cp is the max for gear atm(600 cp is max cp you can use overall), but given it's your first playthrough, wouldn't say there's any rush to get there if you just enjoy questing and exploring. Also, champion points are account wide so any new toon you make will be able to use those you've already earned(although they'll only be able to earn champion points themselves once they hit level 50 - after which they'll automatically become cp level <however many cp points your account has>).

The area you play in is entirely up to you. My personal goals, in no specific order, are getting to cp160, collecting all books and shards, leveling all weapons and skills, leveling all crafting trades, achievements, and gearing up, more than likely doing all of them at once.

I enjoy most of the story arcs, so I plan on doing all of the quests, and exploring all of the zones.

The grind to 600 champion points will burn you out. Very, very long grind to 600.
PAWS (Positively Against Wrip-off Stuff) - Say No to Crown Crates!

TESO needs a wardrobe system badly. Something similar to WoW's tmog system would make this game one of the best mmorpg out there!

It is if that's all you. Grinding skyreach or wherever from level 3 to CP600 will feel like forever.

Just play the game, do your daily dungeons and you will be at CP600 soon enough. Not that it matters heaps anyway. Once you're at CP300 you're pretty good.
