They are wanting to nerf players who are stacking Damage glyphs in their jewelry... ZOS knows how many players are doing this, it would be an easy query to discover through searching their database... they see all these players stacking damage glyphs, you check almost any build sites and they almost all tell players to put damage glyphs in jewerly... Wrobel said months ago that players needed to start using Cost Reduction glyphs to help with resource management- but nobody listened because CP passives gave a huge Cost Reduction allowing massive sustain while also allowing damage stackers high damage. They want to reduce the damage ceiling and bring back resource management to the game, thus, they are killing two birds with one stone with this change... they are forcing damage glyph stackers to make the decision between high damage or sustain... why is this a bad thing? It will also force players to run the proper armor- for additional cost reduction/regen.
This is pretty much the issue, pug is not an guild raid. In an organized group they use lots of sustain abilities.Rich said on ESO Live last week these changes are in hopes of getting back to resource management being part of the game. They're not happy right now with the fact people never run out of resources and have super damage.Massive_Stain wrote: »That's a good point. 16% cost reduction is negligible for stam characters with Vicious Ophidian 5 piece, but everyone else will feel it. As far as I know, mag players do not have the VO equivalent. Seducer doesn't offer enough crit or spell damage to compete.
Instead of the nerf train, why not buff more things. People like to see their power increase, not decrease. At least in PVE.
It seems they have an idea what they want from the game regarding builds/balance and this is the first of many changes to get it there.
That said Rich also said this is still WIP and nothing is final.
I think that sadly it pretty much is final. Also if you run full damage setup you will run out of resources in a blink of an eye, Highly coordinated groups will not have many problems with this nerf, but uncoordinated groups will be thrashed.
They said lover the ceiling (which i don't agree with) and raise the floor, but they lowered the floor underground, good job keep it up.....
This is a stupid change in all senses, and the people have spoken and they don't like it. I would be worried zos if i were you. Because when morrowind launches you could actually lose many players, and the fault will be only yours.
If you wanna nerf heavy armor sustain, just nerf constitution.
