If you can solo the easier vet dungeons, is that any indication of how you will do in VMA?

If you're looking at clears you'll get further running it and getting used to the spawns than just doing vet dungeons solo.
My next step is to start running MA on normal for a bit to slow it right down and see what type of mob spawns where so I can formulate a plan on vet
but why though...?

Depends on the dungeon, some of them like FG 2 with the chainer boss require quite a bit of skill (getting destro ult down before you get chained so it kills the chainers) other require not as much skill
also vma is easy so I'm gonna say some solo vet dungeons

Running normal does not prepare you for vet in the even remotest little bit. The difference is utterly staggering and a huge waste of time.
