They just announced they got a million and a half new players in the last eight months so why would they possibly consider going full FTP?

If the number of new players creating accounts is the metric to measure, nothing better than F2P to overachieve on that...

Wow every 3 will stop player eso what wonder ...
    Groupfinder:
The worst part is when it finally puts you in a group, your healer turns into a werewolf, your tank has 14k HP and the dps is heavy armor, using a restro staff and a two handed sword on the backbar. Then comes the 15 minute penalty before the cycle starts anew.

    Rulz of Morrowind:
    • The first rule of Morrowind is: You do not talk about Morrowind.
    • The second rule of Morrowind is: You do not talk about Morrowind.
    • Third rule of Morrowind: Someone yells NDA stuff, uploads images, streams, the game is over.
    • Fourth rule: only invited players can test.
    • Fifth rule: one invite at a time, fellas.
    • Sixth rule: crying or bashing on pts.
    • Seventh rule: NDA will go on as long as they have to.
    • And the eighth and final rule: If this is your first invite at Morrowind, you have to play.

Every MMO I've played that's gone F2P has turned into a toxic community (ESO is heaven compared to those, believe it or not) so I would have to find another game to play

As long as I can still play with my guild and there is still a subscription model if it goes f2p, I will still play.

Most likely I will continue playing as before. The game is already almost f2p you can get the base game for like 10eur for PC at least.

It would not surprise me at all if it went totally f2p and all the future extra content would be new chapters.

exactly and now with the new Gold edition it's even cheaper.

True, however then the game cost money to get its both an income for ZoS and the commitment to purchase.
many F2P games are downloaded then bored then tested once.
F2P will also increase the amount of trolls and cheaters a lot as it cost nothing to create an new account.

Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

    Indifferent.

Likely wont happen, but quite frankly, if the game isn't going to fix the glaring issues with it's current setup then there isn't much point in going f2p. The churn wont save it.

    1) I voted Yes.
    2) I don't think the game will go F2P just yet.
    3) Whether or not I play is NOT dependent on the access model, but on the enjoyability of the content.

P2W = games with no apparent original costs but that lock features and progression behind pay walls ; LOTR Online.

Many games with in-game stores could do a lot worse than adopt the LOTRO model.
The Store Currency is available to earn in-game without the need to hand over cash; and the things LOTRO locks you out from has a lot less impact than, for example, the things SWTOR locks you out of.

I subbed to LOTRO for a long time, and when it went F2P was able to buy all the "convenience" unlocks for less than 2 months Subs worth of store currency.

I took me a LOT more than that to unlock the comparable features in SWTOR. And SWTOR has recently added the Galactic Command System - the new way to gear-grind for end-game and it is a) a massive grind akin to Asian MMO-Grinders, and b) ONLY available to those who Subscribe - as much Pay To Win as you can get.

At least in LOTRO you can gear up for end game without a Sub and without the need for any Store purchases, yes it will take time but then ALL MMORPG's have massive time-sinks at end-game.

Yes. Unless the clownstore is doing pay2win items. Then I would quit. But if it's just f2p I would have no issues with it.

Already lots of people play for free (yes I know they had to buy game first so it's not really free) because they do not sub.

But: I love PvP because of siege warfare. If Bannerlord ever comes out I think that will draw me away from PvP since it's all about siege warfare, mounted combat, no proccing armors, no invisible enemies etc.

So I would become PvE peasant, and that will only last as long as the next big RPG comes out with better quests/stories. I do look forward to Morrowind but it is so far away, and will last maybe 2-3 months before it gets old. And we never know how often we will get new content.

"I am a nightblade. Blending the disciplines of the stealthy agent and subtle wizard, I move unseen and undetected, foil locks and traps, and teleport to safety when threatened, or strike like a viper from ambush. The College of Illusion hides me and fuddles or pacifies my opponents. The College of Mysticism detects my object, reflects and dispels enemy spells, and makes good my escape. The key to a nightblade's success is avoidance, by spell or by stealth; with these skills, all things are possible."

It is certainly cheaper with a game that has no purchase necessary, but ESO is discounted enough that the time to download and install might be a higher price to pay than the game itself. How many of the 8.5 million accounts never got out of the Wailing Prison? I know players who have one (1) character, and it is still standing in the Wailing Prison, forgotten.
