Am I the only one disappointed in how Warden is shaping up?

I wouldn't worry too much. If the Warden is any good it will be nerfed hard, The Dragon Knight was probably the only clas that was properly thought out by the original developers. The Class is now nothing like it was when the game came out.

In fact thinking about it, the current group will be incapable of developing a properly thought out new class . Just look at the Champion points fiasco. One Tamriel; as well and the efect on PVP. Faction traitors galore.

Frost is more a defensive skill line. Sure there is some decent damage but mostly the damage comes from the animal companion skill line.

I'm kind of dissapointed with the changes to frost element introduced in Homestead in preparation to Warden class.

And yes I feel frost skill line doesn't fit at all to a shaman/druid-like class. I'm going to have fun playing warden nevertheless.

Frost tanking is almost non existant as far as I've seen recently, but maybe that will change with Morrowind? Who knows... I at least know that is not what I wanted for my saved frost gear/ staves =\

U forget that u can apply minor maim with frost and what I seen there is a skill that is like sun shield but a weaker version of it. But remember u get minor maim from frost status effects.

I feel like I'm the only person that was very excited to hear ZOS was going to give up the facade and make frost a full on tanking damage type.

I thought it was interesting, and fun...

Yeah dude, I think its great for frost to be able to tank, apply maim with chill, the whole shebang. Problem is that they're shoehorning frost into that role as the only thing frost can do with literally all of the new frost spells they're adding. It wouldnt be so much of a problem either if they added morphs for the skills to support other playstyles, instead we get such uninspired nonsense as "your AoE major Res gets slightly more AoE". Yeah thanks ZoS, your playerbase really needed that.

I think, once we get a couple more classes added, they should make a Custom Class option where you can select 3 Class Trees from any class and Name your Class w/e you want. Then this would truly become a Scrolls game in every essence.

Oh god no. While I appreciate the sentiment, can you imagine streaking bol-ing globe of OP-ness using magma armor(I ran short on most op dk skill there, been a while since I played mine so please add a better one there if you can)?
What works well in terms of roleplaying really doesn't work well in terms of balance, especially in a game with an elemt of competitiveness to it :/

I also think PVE and PVE should be completely separate stat wise... PVP should play more like Overwatch (not exactly of course) but role based combat w/o stats. Then that would make my idea wholly feasible and stop all balance issues.

You say "fire damage has a class of its own (dragon knight), lightning damage has a class of its own (sorceror)".

However, both of those classes really only have one skill tree thats dedicated to a particular element. Dk has ardent flame, sorc has storm calling. Earthen heart, draconic power, daedric summoning, and dark magic have nothing to do with fire or lightning.

The warden is fine with its frost tree. Frost is fine as a defensive element - not everything needs to be about damage.

11/14 of DK's skills that deal damage have morphs that deal fire damage, including ALL of their ults. Even ability's that DK have that dont deal fire damage are things like Molten Armanments and Dragon Fire Scale. Not only do the majority of DK's spells deal fire damage, but the majority of all fire spells in the game belong to DK. There is literally nothing more fiery in this game than DK, so I feel perfectly *** justified in calling DK a fire class.

The exact same thing can be said for sorc to only a slightly lesser extent. "Oh but dadric summoning has nothing to do with lighting". Well when ALL of your summons deal shock damage and you summon a GIANT STORM ATRONACH yes I'm pretty sure that lightning is involved. Once again not only do the majority of Sorc's damage dealing abilities deal shock damage, but they also have the majority of all shock damage in the game.

I hadn't even bothered comparing Warden and Winter's Embrace in that way, but they're adding only 3 abilities with Warden that deal frost damage, whereas there were already 3 abilities from desto staff that deal frost damage and 1 from the mages guild, so warden wont even have the majority of frost damage dealing spells in the game.

And no, not everything is about damage, but referencing the damage types of these abilities is an objective way to make an argument. The subjective argument I would make is that almost all of DK's abilities come with fiery or volcanic effects but people who would be receptive to that subjective argument would not be here wasting their time with this pedantry in the first place.

The problem though, is that not only is Winter's Embrace a paltry and inadequate expansion of Frost magic, not only is it pigeon holed into health tanking, not only are many of Winter's Embrace's talents extremely boring, uninspired and lackluster, not only does imo the frost theme clash hideously with the nature theme, but its also taking a slot that could be a great Nature tank or something similar, and ZoS is unlikely to ever release something nature or frost based ever again before this game dies.
