Why so much complaining?

I'm not trying to come off as rude but why is there so much hate towards ZOS? If you know the crates are a hit or miss why risk it And Complain about not getting a mount? If you're upset because your subscription doesn't seem beneficial enough don't subscribe. If you think the warden sucks before it's even released and you can experience it don't play a warden. I just see so much hate and trash talk about ZOS I just don't understand. They created a beautiful game rich in lore with so much content it can be overwhelming sometimes. If you have so much negativity about the game why play it at all? I've only been playing since February but I don't have a single complaint. Granted I mostly play PVE so I don't have experience in any PVP related issues but as someone who's been playing video games since he was a child this is one of my favorites to date. I just think ZOS should get more credit. Also this isn't a personal attack on anyone who's ever complained about the game. I just personally don't understand all the hatred.

I understand the customer support is pretty nonexistent lol but does that warrant all the constant bashing? @WhitePawPrints and I'm sure they are all like this lol obviously not everyone is going to have nice things to say. It just seems like this community in general has a lot of negativity toward the game so why play it? @ZiRM

Crates are fine, it gives visuals and some potions, its nothing special.

That it's a rip off and a money pit because the chance of getting a mount are very slim. @Honghua the chances of winning the lottery are slim but people play all the time and don't blame the lottery companies lol

Alliance horses are the best anyway.
Armored character with armored pony is best option. :P

@Indigochild3rdi I appreciate your point of view. The game is still quite fresh and has only ever existed in one state for you (it's current form). And as you mentioned, the realm of PvP in ESO is not something you're familiar with, nor the state of endgame PvE content.

I think you would find few people suggest that the leveling content or graphics are sub-par. We can recognize the many positive elements in ESO, and forum posters will often give ZOS credit when they enact a positive change. Take the decision to make Battlegrounds no-CP as an example.

The problem is that for some, they have seen the game change many times, sometimes for the worse, sometimes watching bugs go unaddressed for more than a year. They've attempted to communicate concerns to the devs early in the development process only to watch things that were obvious problems to the players go unchanged and result in the expected problems on the live servers. There's frustration at feeling ignored, at wishing certain things players had gotten used to would have been left alone, at seeing so much potential for elements of a game they love not being realized.

You're right that if people didn't like the game and didn't care they should just leave, but most of the complaints are from people who love this game and have invested many hours into it. They want to see improvement and not degeneration into traps so many other MMOs have fallen into.

...and some people are just forum trolls.

bought 30 bucks worth of crates got 4 mounts. so the odds are not as bad as you think.

Recently returned from a 6 Month or so break. During this period I played/tried many other MMO's only to return to ESO and discover it's simply (For me at least) The best MMO out currently. ZOS also does a fantastic Job IMO. The game is filled with players and they're regularly providing content and patches and we're always aware of what's being worked on and that content is being made.

Let's not forget, from the PC perspective, for me it feels like it wasn't long ago where us PC players had the content drought whilst Consoles were being worked on, ergh! That sucked, grateful it isn't like that anymore!

These forums aren't a good representation of the player base. You have some regulars but many people who come on just to gripe about something then leave. It's one of those things that you either do regularly or only when something really good or really bad happens that encourages you to make a post.

People use the forums for basically 2 things. To post info to help other folks out and to gripe.

Peruse at your own risk.

Honestly when someone crushes a dungeon run or a heist or just has a general good day adventuring they don't usually post about it on the forums. So most of what you see is going to be negative.

Use the forums as an information tool and don't let the negativity get you down. If you're enjoying the game that's all that matters.

I've personally second guessed whether I'm enjoying the game after reading the forums, then logged in and all the sudden oh right I'm having a great time and it doesn't matter that crown crates are a rip off or such and such build got nerfed.

Just have fun. It's a game. If your not having fun don't play. There's enough not fun stuff in life and playing a game should not be among that list.

It is the tin foil hat complainers that bother me the most.

Not everything they do is some grand scheme to ring money out of players and let the game die.
It is like apocolyptic thinking, I don't know how they get through the day like that.

Complain about the issues that could be improved sure go ahead but to constantly say that it isn't being improved because they are working on the crown store instead or any new feature is a money making scheme. ergh.

The best money making scheme is a good game.

I have seen this kind of complaining for basically every game I have played and not just video games or MMO, when you see the same "the game is going to die" whining in every game community. When you start seeing that everywhere you really see how nuts the tin foil hat brigade are.

Claims are necessary, in fair measure in a reasonable manner.

These help the person in charge of a situation realize that those who depend on him are not satisfied with the way things are being done, or that he is not keeping his promise.

Of course there will always be excesses in the use of the claim, even some people may use it in a negative way, but expressing disagreement (in a polite and intelligent way) does not hurt anyone.

On the contrary, on many occasions it helps to improve and this applies to all aspects of life.

For those who are in charge, if they really care about those who follow it, it is essential to know what they think, how they feel, what they want or need.

As well as it is fundamental for those who follow, get answers and see that the promises are fulfilled and that the changes look for a collective improvement.

Conformity and acceptance of something that feels uncomfortable and unjust leads to nothing good, unconditional support for something and its blind following without the use of reason either.

Many of the complaints in this forum and in all the games in the market are for unfulfilled (or manipulated at will) promises, poor performance, strategies that hide the true intention of an action, decrease in quantity / quality and increase Of the cost, lack of answers, etc.

So many are simply due to the older beings who roam these lands, ruthless and soulless Trolls stalkers.

It is in each one of us the ability to search and rescue what really adds and contributes to positive change and that does not.

well there is your problem ....

Aaaa young padawan give it a year and after the following get back to me

Playing with your main character and grinding it to CP 600 and then ZOS nerfs it, and you change it to another.

When you start grinding for the gear and they are all BOP and it takes you weeks and weeks to find one sharp weapon

Playing trials and the damm thing kicks you out and others

Group finder that most of times dose not work

Lag..lag and allot of lag in trials and in PVP

After trying VMSA for the first time and swearing and wanting to throw your controller at the TV and dying 300 times ( as frustrating it is and you will complaint it will make you a much much better player )

After beating the VMA and then running the same thing over 100 times to try your luck at RNG

Playing PVP and getting wrecked by a OP skills that was made OP due to the ZOS players or getting killed within 2 sec due to LAG

Cheaters in the game that use BOTS and even when reported nothing happens
Cheaters in the game that play PVP and reported nothing happens
Cheaters in the game that trade items and then take your money and the items when reported nothing happens

Having a real issue with your game sending a report to ZOS and getting copy and paste answer sending it again and waiting
as you yet get another copy and past answer that dose NOTHING

Issues with every update that takes a long time to fix ( at the moment guild traders your unable to select the items you want to buy on xbox)

Log in getting kicked out..

I am sure there are many more that i missed , but as i said after a year or playing get back to me and tell me you will have nothing to complain.

The reason why we complain? clearly you don't understand... its not because we hate the game ...far far from it .. its because we were here from the very first start (i was here with imperial ed ) some are even beta testers and we are very very passionate, and we love the game and we want the game to be improved and to succeed and we see the path the ZOS is taking and as most of us have played some great MMO games which failed due to the same path, and because of this when we see something wrong, we raise our concerns and complain, so ZOS will do something about it, we do not want to see this great game fail and to deter other players to leave ,we do not complain because we hate the game on the contrary we want ESO to be improved to be one the best games out there and due to this is.. this is the why we complain

You obviously haven't played ESO long enough to create your own opinions.

I can't speak for others but I will speak for myself.

I complain so that I can use my frustrations to try to get ZOS to change things in the game that is more appropriate.

I complain because I'm sick of tired of spending most of my time in ESO grinding and farming for impossible obtainable gear that will help my overall DPS status. I should be having fun in a game that I paid a lot of money on. So far that doesn't seem to be an option anymore because this game is so DPS # and strict BIS gear (Non craftable) orientated.

I have a love hate relationship with ZOS because I feel that their milking us Elder scrolls fans out of our money for low quality items in the crown store. ZOS has reached an all time low by introducing us to the crown crates. They've turned this game into an online casino where RNG seems to be a large part of the game now, including crowns!

ZOS has ripped us off so much that it is their own fault that players hate them. It gets to the point where the players recovers from the stockholm syndrome, and take action.

For starters... mounts... Afraid of water! WTF! Why is my expensive mount that I paid real life money on so terrible of water? Why is that? Why can't I have my mount swim in the water like I can do back in Skyrim? Also why can't I get infected by a wild werewolf/ and or vampire without having to beg for a bite in guilds and in zones? People been scammed by other players who offered a bite for gold, and didn't provide the service. You know why? ZOS doesn't give a crap about Elder scrolls lore! Check the Crown store.... Offering a vampire/werewolf bite for 1,000 crowns! They made it so difficult to the point where people cave in, and use RL for a bite.

Oh and one last thing on why I no longer have respect for ZOS

Lead combat designer Eric Wrobel from ZOS encourages his players to exploit a broken combat mechanic (He should really admit that he doesn't know how to fix it) by using animation canceling to give you an extra boost of DPS.

To become a competitive player you must exploit the combat mechanic by using animation canceling otherwise your DPS will suck, and you won't be invited to any of the veteran trials, especially vMOL! You must use this exploitative technique to become competitive player.

L2p issue. Combat in this game would be boring if it wasn't for animation cancelling.
To remove it they would have to completely re work the game, which will not happen, and it would also be stupid, since it would make the game more boring.

Game has issues and people are voicing them yet ZOS is not fixing them. The bug about seeing people in the ground has been here for ages and not even a slightest fix has implemented. Yet we get more greedy crown items and pricing that increase the frustration even more.

We love the game, we play the game, and we will not sit idle when premium shop takes more attention than game issues. Forums are used for complaints so that developers can monitor the playerbase and game easily. However this forum has so many trolls and fans that "support" zos by sayın " like it or leave it"...

Perhaps you should learn how to play the game properly without breaking the animation sequence to achieve higher DPS.

Look, animation cancelling is there, if you don't wanna use it that's on you, it will never be removed, because to do it they would have to completely rework the game which will not happen. Animation cancelling is a product of animation priorities, basically every game has some kind of animation cancelling.
If you don't wanna use it to get better results, well sucks for you.
If you don't wanna learn it because it's difficult (which is not too difficult) l2p.
If you don't wanna use it because of morals, then that's your problem.

Also i find the argument learn to play the game without animation cancelling ridiculous, i mean do you really think that if i can play the game with animation cancelling i cannot without it? give me a break, it doesn't make any sense.

@Indigochild3rdi I think you raise a good point. I'm new to MMO and the following does seem to have alot of hate in general. Don't get me wrong a few things have irked me over time but I love the game

To your point why hate and still play what amazes me is those that hate 'Have quit' but still come to the forums regularly to declare their hate

Its like in the work place.
People say " I hate this place I wish they would fire me or I should just quit"
But they never do. Some people just need to think this makes them important

Mercy complaining about mounts that dont swim, not having free bites, not wanting to actually play the game but have everything given to them......
I will be willing to help anybody out of the game.
Just send me your mats and gold. Then you can leave knowing you have left nothing behind.
