Can we please have a option to stop people from being able to turn of lights in another persons home??? I allow my guild access to my house for the craft stations but everytime I come back I'm in the dark! Can this please be an implemented function??

    Agreed.

Either add a permission for this or tie it to the "modify house" permission so guests can't troll everyone.

Not sure if ZOS have this on their radar or not though, it has been reported a lot as an annoying issue, but I don't know how much they care about it over all for the feature vs making bigger features.

It's a very annoying instance. It happened to our guild hall lol. They had to do some serious parkour too, they were able to get to one of our high lights. Took me a good 10 minutes to try and figure out how they did the jumps. Atleast my guild has dedicated trolls. But seriously they need to fix that.

If you don't like it then do not allow anyone to access your home. It's that simple.

Lol imagine we could set up cameras. I always turn off all the lights before leaving a house, don't want them to get an expensive bill :p

I'm not against more home owner options, nor the specific idea of locking light control behind different filter permission than guest visit access. Doesn't affect me, so I'm not going to block anyone wanting to get this feature.

But I will ditto some comments above - you are not being randomly afflicted by trouble makers, which is how we usually label people as trolls. You invited these people in. You are in a guild with these people. Seems the issue is more the need to clean house in your guild.

It is such a minor alteration that I don't care about if lighting gets a separate permission list. But in general principles, I am usually against nanny state social issues such as these - a person brings a problem on themselves, and cries out for the state to intervene to make it so everyone - including possibly a majority not affected at all - to have their lives changed in order to 'fix' this 'problem'.

Hopefully, if implemented, the lightning permission is done in such a way that normal home owners don't have to change how they set permissions in order to satisfy the smaller group who self invites trouble. e.g. today I have a decorator list and visitor - and completely ok with giving visitors light interaction control. I don't want to have to jump through another hoop - no matter how minor - to maintain a third lighting list. The people asking for this fix ought to be the ones jumping through another admin hoop - so however the lighting permission is implemented, it should be done in a way that allows current decorator v visitor to work in exact same way, but allow if desired the separation of lighting from visitor - but not mandatory because if you made it mandatory, then every single home owner - even ones without this self invited problem - would now have a third permission list we had to maintain.

Yes the correct fix to this issue is to stop anyone else having access to your home for crafting or viewing. It's totally the players fault for choosing to use the system in a social way and not ZOS for allowing guess the ability to change lighting.

Also just to make sure you're aware, that was sarcasm. I don't want you to think I agree with you.

    Please, please rethink your request!

Some Characters are just simply more eco-friendly by nature. They cannot help it.
    • Going into a courtyard, in bright daylight, with all lights glaring is a no-no - press "E".
    • On a scorchingly hot Summer day - when even Khajiit, Redguard and Argonian are shedding their togs in favour of Nordic Bathing Towel - it is instinct; press "E".
    • Leaving a room with candles burning, is not only dangerous but it is poluting the air - press "E".
    • Extinguishing oil burners is saving resources and the environment - press "E".
I could go on but you probably get my gist.

Instead of admonishing your Guildies and friends you should be thanking them and sending them gifts. They only have your best interests - and those of the whole of Tamriel - at heart.

I would not be at all surprised at all if many of the, so called culprits, were magicka-gifted. They might have developed their ESP to such a high level that they are able to see what will befall Tamriel in the distant future, unless of course they act now. Perhaps some may have spent time with the Moth Priests and understand the writings within the Scrolls. You simply do not know.

In my opinion, leave things as they are. The slight inconvenience of turning on a light or candle is a small price to pay when one considers the wider picture.

Oh! When you finish crafting and are leaving your home, what should you do? That's right, press "E" - multiple times if necessary. Or you might just find your beautiful home has burnt down and you have no home to come back to o:)

I make it a habit to turn off lights when I exit a house alone or when I go to sleep. It is just basic common sense. :p

Theirs other things that ZOS needs to fix, not to pay mind over a simple request that can be solved simply by restricting access of players from gaining access to your home. If you allow guild members to go to your home, and use the crafting table, or appreciate the view then for pity sake... STOP complaining over people turning off the lights! Theirs far greater things to complain about over some silly light switch.

And the only reason my friend goes to their house is to see if I've been there, and then turn their lights back on.

It's the reverse in my house. I leave my lights off, he comes and turns them on.

My cat is asleep on my bed. I don't want a fire to start and poor little Loki to get burned.

Lighting interactions should be tied to decorator privileges.

I admit I am guilty of this ;) , simple solution is to use a cheap house for your crafting area and set it to primary residence so you can keep your personal home private.
