✭ESO will never be a F2P game. Most F2P games are pay2Win, because f2p games need a revenue stream.
Before someone says BDO is f2p, it's really pay2win at later stages.

✭you need a not sure button up there, would depend on how they did it and how much they nickel and dimed us anything like the f2p model of swtor, STO, never winter, then no I would not play it, if it was more on the lines of DDO or lotro most likely for a little while, I don't care for f2p games they end up costing more that a sub, if you want a descent gaming experience.Edited by kevlarto_ESO on March 20, 2017 6:21PM0 -

This is true. Some f2p models aren't too terrible, but locking mounts behind a pay wall has me thinking that they might get a little too carried away with f2p. I personally don't think they will go f2p. Just interested to see the general players options0 -

Even having the slightest entry charge removes 99% of the potential troublemakers. Because, surprise surprise, trolls don't like trolling as much if they have to pay to do it.
And I think we can all live without people from all reaches of the planet begging for crown codes in zone chat and beyond. More than anything else, F2P regularly produces a sub-community of beggars who not only won't pay for services, but due to various security restrictions cannot pay in the first place.

Morrowind will be the buy option

I don't know why console users constantly confuse ongoing payments with initial payments. F2P/B2P refers to origin of access. If I let one of my friends borrow a single player game, they can't go around saying lol this game is F2P because it's not. It's B2P because I had to buy access to it. And if they lose the game they're *** well going to have to buy me a new copy.
For ESO, somebody had to pay something to somebody at some point in time to receive the initial access code even if multiple users have access to that copy of the game.
ESO has the occasional free weekend where you can register an account and download a basic game client without any purchase necessary. If ESO were like that every single day of the year, it would be F2P. But no, after those free weekends are over you are prompted to purchase ESO or GTFO. Basically.signing off3 -

P2P = Pay to play = Sub (EVE online)
B2P = Buy game to play = current ESO
F2P = no charge necessary whatsoever for game = Tera
P2W = games with no apparent original costs but that lock features and progression behind pay walls ; LOTR Online
Might not be best examples but I tried to keep it in realm of mmos and havent played much others since ESO came out :P ; So ESO used to be P2P, and went B2P after the first year or so. It is not F2P at all. And thats a good thing. P2P is generally the best option for those invested in and expecting AAA content/experience from an MMO, but it has its downside. (I cant play Eve regularly enough for it to be worth the sub so I dont and no longer play). F2P automatically means millions of fluff shoved in your face in hopes of getting you to pay, something we are already seeing in ESO, but it is NOT F2P, you have to buy the game to play. P2W is the stereotypical asian mmorpg that allows people to dish out money endlessly in order to be the strongest etc...0 -
