We are currently investigating issues some players are having on the North American Xbox megaserver. We will update as new information becomes available.

whoa whoa whoa, didn't they already do third-party marketing before this update?

I am not an advertising master so I am not in my expertise here. Just saying. I was wondering, haven't they already done third-party marketing? Since we have the game on Steam, wouldn't Steam count as a third-party???

    Well a lot of companies don't. Guess Zenimax' marketing team finally caught up. It's not as bad as it sounds. Third-party marketing is just partnered advertising. It's fine.

    The issue comes that now they shut down the server for hours to fix bugs that don't exist yet, and start TP marketing instead of actually fixing current and outdated, yet living, issues.

    so all the liquid salt running through the forums right now isn't because of ads and other random junk, it's because the bugs are still real?

    You probably lost a few IQ points doing so.

    As for if they did it before this, no idea. Someone would need to find an archive of the old statement.

    I don't think we're going to see anything change though, I don't think ZOS/ZM/Bethesda are stupid enough to tank the game by making it an add pushing service.

    Some are outraged by 3rd party advertising but don't actually understand this isn't anything new nor special, some are yes upset about no bug fixes and using the privacy changes as a reason to lash out.

    That won't help, they're adding the advertising to the game so you have to watch the commercials in game, not beaming them into your head, gawd...

    If they actually display an in-game ad, I will never log on again. I've already canceled my sub (i started playing in Jul 2013).
