Kind of a noob question

So I just recently started playing eso casually. Not really rushing or anything and my main is a level 33 orc stam dragonknight. I just hit level 33 and have no idea what to do with my skill points. I've gotten all the Passives I can for my 2h and sword and board on top of my heavy armor, orc skills and my main skill trees. I don't craft and don't plan on it honestly (I mostly play pve). Anyone have any idea what I should do with these extra points?!?!?! Thanks!

You will want other passives from things like the Undaunted skill lines, Fighter's guild, etc.

But most non-crafting characters will end up with an excess in skill points, which is fine. You case use them to have an alternate spec on the same character if you desire; maybe both a dps and tank setup? For pve dps you will likely want to level up both your dual wield and bow skill lines as well to pump out more damage than both two handed and the one handed + shield skill lines can provide.

Ultimately, just mix it up :)

You can respec points easily at any capitol city, and it's pretty cheap for lower levels to do. Use this time to experiment with different skills and morphs. If you've got everything you need that is unlocked for you, then just hold on to them until more become skills/morphs/passives become available.

    Invest in your passives.

Beyond that just enjoy the ride your first time through the story. There is plenty of time to min/max once you hit 50 ;)

If you are PC NA hit me up (same name in game as here) and I can send a invite to a very helpful group to get you the rest of the way :)

For now...just enjoy the ride & don't forget to do your riding upgrades and skills research

Rethink deciding not to craft, you get alot of great stuff from high level writs. It's totally worth it!!

Nothing wrong with extra points but I would reconsider no crafting. It's very useful for PvE as well.

And do you think it's too late to get into crafting? I'm Level 33. And if not what steps should I take? I'd probably do blacksmith if I did? @jlboozer @Surragard

@Indigochild3rdi it's never too late to start crafting, or any other skill line for that matter. Do whatever you want to do if you feel like it.

There is no propper order in crafting. Just think about which skill would be most beneficial to you.
    • Blacksmithing/Woodwork/Leatherwork: Improving your gear or getting new and better gear.
    • Alchemy: Crafting strong potions and poisons.
    • Provisioning: Crafting food to increase your max HP, Stamina and/or Magicka and drinks to increase these stats' regen.
    • Enchanting: Adding bonus effects on your gear.
One thing is for certain: Crafting things yourself will give you items that are far more usefull than what you can buy from most NPC's, and if you look for the items yourself, it's pretty much free. And if you don't like searching for the ingredients, buy them from players. If you play it right, you still end up with better potions for a lower price.

level up other skills, may not need them to today but once morphed or morphable, you cannot forget them (unless they play any more skill xp tricks)

I say this all the time. Check out youtube! There are countless how-to and what the heck do I do type clips and plenty of clips on how and where to emplace your skill points and champion points. You'll learn much better with those clips' voice instruction and explanation than getting typed comments here and there on this forum, or even on the in-game text chats.

It's not to late, just start researching everything. Whatever you don't research dismantle for xp

@Indigochild3rdi Provisioning is the easiest to level up and is quite rewarding. You find food in barrels and buckets all over the place and can steal it as well. Blacksmithing / Clothier / Woodworking take a little longer but there's no reason you can't start now. Rather than sell all the junk gear you pick up, see if you can research any of it at the crafting stations and break it down if not. Eventually drop at least one skill point in the perk that makes resource nodes glow to make finding mats a little easier.

If you can find another player to trade off gear with and break down each others stuff you get a lot of xp. For example, if you craft 20 daggers and give them to someone and they craft 20 and give them to you, you will gain significantly more xp for breaking down someone else's gear than if you break down your own.

I appreciate the advice! Is there a certain trait I should look out for that is more beneficial than others? I'm an orc dragonknight tank. I'm probably going to peruse blacksmithing so I can make my own heavy armpit and 2h weapons. @Surragard

I think training would be good to help you level up faster initially but ultimately unless you're going to go to guild traders and buy gear with certain traits just to research it this will ultimately be determined by what you happen to pick up. Divines is generally sort after. I use a mix but I'm not a min/maxer. Eventually you may want to invest some skill points to make research go faster if you end up liking it as well.
