"Transmog System"? NO! Restyle System is much better!

Well, the title says a lot.

Many players call for a transmog system, but we play The Elder Scrolls Online. So all we need is a system that can change the style of the items (crafted or dropped). A Restyle System is something that makes perfect sense.

So what do you guys think?

    Semantics.
Also mechanic, transmorg tend to require an style item who is consumed.
This let you change into future styles and you require the rare styles to use them. It would also be an marked for style items
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Semantics only. Every game will have its own mechanics and making a special name doesn't make it any different.

Under some restrictions restyling sounds good. It would be nice addition for ESO+. For example You need same amount of crafting materials and stones like for crafting item and also need the knowledge to craft in certain style to restyle an item to style You want.

Seriously its just semantics man.. When people ask for a "transmog" feature, they are not asking for world of Warcrafts solution. They use the term transmog because they dont generally know of any other term that is used in various other games or that simply because "transmog" is the most popular of the bunch.

    Vanity tab
    Glamours
    Transmogrify
    Wardrobe
    Etc etc

"Can we have a system that lets us customize the appearance of our characters beyond what is currently available, that takes advantage of / ultilizes the various item styles that are available in the game with some form of added mechanical feature gameplay integration?"

    vs

"can we have a transmog system?"

copying and pasting something i wrote on another thread:

Here's my interpretation of a system for this:

You can only craft armor pieces, no weapons, or jewelry.

Create new crafting stations, "Artificers [Station Name]"

This station needs a very rare final boss drop that only drops from the vet final boss in order to attune it, which cannot latter be changed.
The Boss drop will be named "[Set Name] Cipher", and when rolled rolls again for dungeon specific set type. It is not BoP, is of gold quality, and can be sold to a merchant for 500g

Give all vet bosses a rare chance at dropping a "[Set name] Scrap", it is not BoP, is of purple quality and can be sold to a merchant for 100g

Writ merchant now sells three additional gold quality items, at a price of [x] vouchers:
    Aetherial Resin
    Aetherial Temper
    Aetherial Wax

To craft an armor piece of the desired set, a player must have:
Access to the required attuned Artificer Station
    [x] amount of Aetherial material
    [x] amount of scrap pieces.
    The required base material
The desired Trait to be unlocked, and the Trait gem
The Smithing skill needed to create the level of the item.
The desired style to be unlocked, and the Style material

    "Restyle System"
For PvE - Why not ? As long as it is purely cosmetic. You will not ba able to make light armour to look like heavy armour.. so why not ?

(btw. As for PvP - this is topic for another discussion because too many people already use "disguise" - so you see a dude in a "light armour" robe and when it comes to it you realize that it is a tank with ice staff... :o )

Well "the guys" (quoting Gina) over at ZOS would have to consider it before it lifts off the ground. personally I think this is a great idea, especially for a reason to keep motifs alive. I guess in the end it will be up to "the guys."

When I wrote this topic, I was not talking about "semantics" or "what's the name of this system?" But, yes, I'm talking about how this system will work! When I said "we play The Elder Scrolls Online", I was talking about this:

And many other mechanics that are part of the game.

I thought of some requirements, like:

    * Rank 50 in Blacksmithing, Clothing or Woodworking.
    * Spent 1 skill point on the new Restyle Passive (for each profession).
    * (for example) If you need to restyle a CP 160 light armor piece, you'll need rank 10/10 in Tailoring passive etc.

    Exactly.

Does the armor style affect? If it does not affect, I think the Restyling System will also not affect.

    Well, this is it.

    Can you understand now?

We can already do that with Imperial style and how many people actually use it?

if such a thing were implemented for other styles, you can bet ZOS would find a way to stuff it into crown crates.

    @joaaocaampos

The only unique aspect crafted sets have that drop sets dont is style control.

That should not be given away to make drop sets even more appealing than they are now and further move three full skill lines away from crafting and further towards just being "alterations" toolkits to support drop sets.

Didnt drop sets get enough of a boost in 1T with universal scaling to max, universal jewels dropping all over dolmens, so many new sets etc?

How much more do drop sets need?

If we triple their drop rates, let them all drop in gold and cut their quality upgrades in half too will that be enough improvements for those who want to finish off crafteds?

Imperial style can not convert items who are part of an set, how many players past level 20 use anything who is not in an set.
    Making it extremely useless.
