Lack of end game

I don't play PvP,I only pve. Having said that, one you get all your BiS gear what exactly is there worth doing? Trials and vet dungeons aren't worth it for just bound gear. They need to add some end game content or rep vendors.

Well, what are you collecting your gear for?

The point of BiS gear is to be able to complete content. If you are simply doing the content to get gear, then I think you are looking at things the wrong way.

What would you consider worth doing once you've got BiS gear?

What else would motivate you to keep playing?

For me I'd repeat to play with other players to achieve something, that's what mmo is about, social gaming.
There are a huge range of choices, you can visit guild members houses, guild events, lots of repeatable dailies and you get motifs, dolmens, world bosses, public chat requests for help, trials, dungeons, or solo plays.
Do what you enjoy and stop when you no longer enjoy it.

The thing is that "end game" on the PVE side will always end up at a dead end at some point before more updates hit.

They add dungeons and people will do them until they get the gear and achievements that they want.

    Same for trials.

Dailies can only be done so many times before you go insane. (These are kinda like Radiant Quests in Skyrim)

    Questlines end.

    And so forth.

The only real endgame in any MMO is PVP. Because that keeps going. There is no finish for it. The devs can only add so much PVE stuff in a 12 month span.

Holiday events are fun little distractions (Jester's Festival soon!) but they only last so long.

PVE endgame is a bit of a myth, I rather think as a good amount of people will devour any new content rather fast and then be bored again.

Yeah, MMOs at endgame are all a bit of a catch-22, aren't they?

You grind out the gear so you can do the content, and you do the content to get the gear. It's pretty cyclical.

If they add a grind wall like Rep Vendors, that will add a whole new slew of complaints, but I guess it would be something "different" to do. Or, would it?

I think what op is saying is that there should be more incentive than stupid motif pages. Like remove bind on pickup amd let us sell loot. Then we could run trials to pay for housing etc.

    This is my thinking too.

My goal in any game is to complete the content. Levelling up, unlocking skills, obtaining better gear etc. is simply a tool that enables me to do that. And that's often the case only because the developers have designed the game to gate content behind those things. Which is not necessarily a bad thing because it enables them to pace it out and avoid overwhelming you with choices right at the start.

So playing to collect equipment seems redundant to me.

If you are looking for "endgame" content, isn't this pretty much limited to simply dungeons/trials or PVP?

If you don't enjoy either of these two, I don't know what to tell you. Maybe go get all the achievements or try roleplaying?

    @ereboz

This is what you really need to ponder. If your game is only about collecting gear then I guess your done until the expansion.

Reputation vendors is fake end game. It is a cheap design to get players to regrind the same old content without putting in actual effort designing new content. OMG, It is part of the reason games like SWTOR are horrible.

So, have you cleared HM of all the trials? If not then you really done with end game content. Also, what are your weapons? Crafted or plain?
