Is there a memory leak currently in ESO?

The only memory leak, is from ZeniMax forgetting bugs that have been reported hundreds of times.

But, as for in the game. No.
The game usually runs aboud 4-4.5gb of ram usage. Since I've got 32gb even if a "leak" were to occur it wouldn't be sufficient to cause any issue.

I notice it most obviously when soloing content. If I lose to a boss for awhile, the FPS/speed/performance will start to get worse and worse until I am forced to close app, which still doesn't help a lot of times. Shutting off my console seems to be the only way to fix certain issues that arise when paying for extended periods of time.

I have an awesome short vMoL HM clip coming soon to show what I mean....

What matters is your vram only for a video memory leak.

I seem to be facing similar problems. I have more than enough resources yet the engine doesn't utilise which is a shame.

The problem I face is over the duration of a few hours my FPS will slowly but surely decrease to around 50 in all circumstances and locations, this is coming from a constant 100FPS. After a game restart, it'll be back to its original 100FPS in all instances and the above will just circle. I know some may moan at the above however it's the principle of the matter.

I have all settings maxed, running no add-ons. Have tested also with and without overclock on the system and running at 4K. I have a second system that also has the same/ similar results which are rather frustrating. It isn't a huge issue but I shouldn't have to be restarting my game in order to keep my FPS at the original constant rate.

Is this something ZoS will address in the near future or something everyone still mentions but nothing gets implemented?

    I voted yes.

I'm having the same problem as nearly all here. I have a good specification i5 system running a GT970.

I tried running the game the other day with all the graphics turned down to the lowest possible settings. The game was almost unplayable because of not having any distance perspective but was amazingly good for spotting resource nodes as they stood out from a good distance!! Anyways, after about 2 hours the game started to stutter and I checked my system monitor and the loading on 1 core of the processor was at 75% whilst the other 3 took a snooze, also my Ram usage 75% of 16MB.

I know that may not be particularly high? but what's my 970 doing in all this?

Is that a memory leak? I don't know the true definition but it doesn't happen in any other games like Fallout 4 and Doom or Witcher 3 and never in any other MMORPG's I have played.

There would appear to be something causing FPS to drop over time (especially in PVP), but I've not seen anything that suggest it is a memory leak.

So, is there cirrently a memory leak present in ESO, gradually reducing FPS over time?

There is, but not affecting FPS as much as giving you a crash after so long with all the LUA errors backing up(not visibly shown). I had to increase the lua memory limit to avoid such an error. It seems tied to chat as it always happened when I stayed in one zone chatting a lot.

...or a page file limit being reached...or a coded variable not resetting to expected default parameters and code trying to reuse the variable going belly up when it encounters a number that doesn't compute...

Do you think it is because of a memory leak that after playing for about an hour in Cyrodiil the game gets choppy and I have the reload ui to clear it?

I play on PC. /reloadui does not help, i have to completely restart the game to get the FPS back to good numbers. Closing launcher does not help on my case.

I just have to log out to character select to fix it.

There probably is a memory leak of some sort in ESO, but I doubt it is affecting FPS. At least I haven't noticed it affecting my fps. I have an addon that tells me my fps and I don't recall seeing any dramatic changes.

PC-EU no problems at all with memory leak from the game recently, back in early 2015 I did for a while.

I always used to shut the launcher but don't even bother to do that now. :)

I though game had memory leak, but i believe mini map causing it. Game would become unresponsive after a while, once i disabled mini map, it works like a charm.

If you having issues, and have minimap try to turn it off and see if it helps.

More like there is some really bad optimization with Jester fest so my FPS sometimes drops to 3-4 after being 100-150 for a long time

lol thought i was the only one with that problem, eso using 10-14GB Ram, FPS dropped to 10-20.

The solution was to install a fresh w10, eso still using 6-10GB but now theres no FPS drop anymore.
    Groupfinder:
The worst part is when it finally puts you in a group, your healer turns into a werewolf, your tank has 14k HP and the dps is heavy armor, using a restro staff and a two handed sword on the backbar. Then comes the 15 minute penalty before the cycle starts anew.

    Rulz of Morrowind:
    • The first rule of Morrowind is: You do not talk about Morrowind.
    • The second rule of Morrowind is: You do not talk about Morrowind.
    • Third rule of Morrowind: Someone yells NDA stuff, uploads images, streams, the game is over.
    • Fourth rule: only invited players can test.
    • Fifth rule: one invite at a time, fellas.
    • Sixth rule: crying or bashing on pts.
    • Seventh rule: NDA will go on as long as they have to.
    • And the eighth and final rule: If this is your first invite at Morrowind, you have to play.

No game should be eating up that much RAM though, don't developers always say 6 to 8 is enough or more than enough?

"A" memory leak? Guys when a game depends on any code at all from Microsoft, there's memory leaks. Plural. No seriously.

I also use the eso.exe file to launch the game, however I did notice that if I click through the loading screens to get to the sign in page quicker I get disconnects? so I always let it load without clicking through.
