Pact Leader vs Werewolf Berserker

I have my first WW char and reached Tranformation Rank 5 recently, and I cant decide if I should go Berserker or Pact Leader, mostly because I never really tried much.
40% more dmg sounds good, but since its bleeding damage and I dont even know if that means target bleeds 40% longer or each tick deals 40% more dmg, i cant really decide how much its worth, same with the wolves, I dont know if they deal good damge, if they are One hit KO for every AoE, if the AI is good...

So, can some experienced WW players help me out here?

The wolves get 15k health i think damage I haven't tested it. The wolves help u in a situation where if someone will hit ur pup instead of u. Try out both morphs either way. Both morphs serve a purpose.

    Berserker.

The only reason I would pick Pack leader is for solo play. Even then, Berserker is also a good pick.

I stay away from pack leader because of bloodrage. It didn't happen everytime, but when my wolves got aggro instead of me it was flat out annoying to deal with and happened often enough.

The wolf companions tend to interfere with the Devour prompt, which is a major pain. They make great off tanks, but their tendency to get in the way is bad enough that I just go Berserker instead.

Maybe someday, should the devs finally decide to flip the bit that would make them transparent to interaction prompts, I might run with them again, but not until.

Both have their perks. Pack leader gains utility, where berserker grants you slightly more damage.

I personally have one of each. But from a pvp perspective I really enjoy my pack leader.

-The good: Pack Leader allows my pets to soak up some extra damage. These poor little guys are constantly getting pelted by lethal arrows, dizzying swings, and eating soul assaults.

You can control their aggression making them run off or calling them back to your side, sick them on a block heavy character to keep drain on resources.

You can also make them run through sorc minefields or trip people's traps.

While standing on a flag to turn it you can have them run off to attack a guard and bring you a snack.

-The bad: Bloodrage can be harder to proc with your little off tanks. You may find yourself stepping in aoe to keep it up.

Proxy det scales higher, many target these little suckers to heal themselves with sweeps, enhale, or other heal on damage abilities.

As others have mentioned, the difficulty in of using interactive abilities such as devour itself.

    Hope this helped.

I'm just curious about this, the DOT with the beserker, it gets refreshed everytime I hit, so isn't that DOT useless? It never ticks b/c I keep reapplying it. I would rather go beserker, but if the DOT is useless, what's the purpose of that morph?

I have maxed werewolf and I can tell you one thing:
    - Pack Leader - is much better for PvE - The 2 summoned wolfs will help you a lot (because the have aggro, and act like a "tank" - I was able to "solo" some group dungeons that way...
    - Werewolf Berserker - If you prefer PvP - then go for Berserker - more dmg - and 2 summoned wolfs won't do you good in PvP.

For PvE you already have enough dmg (even as a regular, unformed werewolf ultimate). Picking Berserker for PvE will be simply unnecessary overkill.

You make it sound like maxing the Werewolf line signifies any form of experience. I have max Werewolf as well and all the actual Werewolf skills are still level 1 or 2 (minus the morph ult).

There is no such thing as unnecessary overkill in PvE. As a DPS, you are intentionally gimping yourself (and your group) by not choosing the option that deals the most damage simply because you think that it's "overkill".

Personally I chose Pack Leader because I'm in a werewolf guild, so when we group up they get the bonus; and because I like having two fuzzballs to run with.

Don't hold me to it, but I think the first tick of DoT occurs before you are able to perform another light attack (at least this is what I've observed when spamming left click - the DoT keeps ticking). So when you refresh its duration, the first tick still damages before it gets refreshed.

The "Pack Leader" bonus you are referring to is a passive and thus available to both morphs. The two fuzzballs aren't, though. :)

Beserker, increased damage, no stupid looking wolves around you, sure you're not a white wolf, but black is the new black

If the NPC's that spawned from pack leader were smaller grey werewolves I might reconsider taking that morph on one of my 5 WW's but for now I will always be a berserker.

I picked berserker because I liked its color better. If I wanted to be white, I would choose vampirism instead.
