Dungeon finder is broken for a month (rewarding for daily random is broken) and people still thinking buying a mount. Good luck waiting for developers to fix something when they can sell reskin mounts for 40$ and their players think they are special and ignore the game issues.

Its not rare, its limited edition. I wish there actually were rare mounts, meaning you have to do something for the chance at them.

The scarcity of seeing the mounts is only because people didnt buy them, not because they were special. I mean i guess striped senche is the "rarest" because you had to fufill a quota of sub time for it.

Thst being said, in before 5500 crowns. Banker? Merchant? Naaaah sabertooth tiger wearing a WWE wrestling belt on its head please.

Amen, thank you. The need to make someone else miss out on something in order to feel special just doesn't make any sense to me. It seems so petty when I see people whining about not feeling 'special' anymore if they bring back limited time mounts or whatever. Sorry I know this isn't what this thread is about but my annoyance with that argument has been building up for a while here, it's nice to see someone else voice my thoughts on that.

I couldn't help but chuckle a little. I mean how old are these people that need to feel special? Like five?

It is bad for them, really. These are the people who are going to get their underwear on a twist when their "special expensive mount" is offered again, either through direct purchase or through Crown Crates.

The "I want to be the only one with it" mentality one leads to frustration. Buy things that you like because you like them, not because you want to feel unique by owning it, and you will never get mad if someone else has it too.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

There is a very easy solution to the problem that caters to everyone. Re-release limited time items again via the crown store for a limited time again. Crown crates kill the rarity of everything since they last 3 entire months.

I kinda like that they are expensive. Because the game would be worse (IMO) if everyone had exotic mounts. I assume the people who buy them would also feel less special with everyone else riding their exotic mounts. So it is probably good for everyone that they are so expensive.

    giphy.gif

LMFAO....This is just a business practice, Zos has a developer or two work on a cool mount and in return make some $ off of it. If you don't agree, don't buy? Do you know how many players actually buy a large portion of those exotic mounts just because they're cool? Personally I have 2 the snowbear mount(match the costume/pet) and the black panther, *it's just another product*

Edit: Complaining about prices won't change anything, it's just complaining. Defending high prices because people will feel less special is actually...interesting... @Thealteregoroman for mvp.

Complaining impacts readers and it does a lot to customers which is why ppl heavily rely on reviews.

Suggesting that higher prices is necessary to make people feel special is waaaaay off here.
Also, it's not correct to suggest ZOS considers this a business practice. At best everything they do is irregular, inconsistent and often seeming without for thought.

This game fits a certain type of customer and the crown store also fits a certain type of customer, the two aren't the same tho which is why every week there are many different "complaint" threads about dlc, crown store, eso plus, etc.

I do have a complaint and it's the same as most of my Crown Store complaints: The store prices and pack sizes are designed so that you'll always have too many crowns or too little. It's sleazy.
3 new classes. 3 new spellcasters. Zenimax has forgotten how to make melee classes.

It's the same price as most of the limited-edition mounts like the various senche, wolves and bears. So maybe not cheap but it's the lowest price they've done for a mount that was advertised as limited edition. The only cheaper ones were anomalies like the dappled and grey horses which were just normal mounts when they were released and then were removed from the crown store after a few weeks.

I just think it's a shame the armour is so garish and can't be hidden or recoloured. If it was steel or silver it wouldn't be so bad, but in gold it just looks silly to me.

Yeah, I would have preferred an iron color instead of gold. I'm sure one day we'll see a recolor sabre cat with iron gray armor.

OH MY GOD, COME ON PEOPLE

Morrowind is on preorder. Zos need to get people feeling OK about the game, and they don't want people having to choose between buying a mount and pre-ordering the next bit of content (which extends zos's use of people's wallets). If you spend 50 dollar pounds on an expansion one month, will you buy a 4500 crown montt the same month?

I am really happy with the price for this mount (and the warning about it we got yesterday), but I don't expect prices like this after people pay the pre-release price for morowind. When morrowind drops in price the crown store will inflate.

If ZOS is smart, they'll never charge 4,000 crowns for a mount again. There's a limit as to how much (most) people are willing to spend on an item like that. I'm someone who loves to spend money on different mounts, and I didn't even buy the elk, or the dro m'anthra senche. (Well, I wasn't yet playing ESO when the senche came out, but I wouldn't have bought it even if I had been.) If the elk had been 2,500 I would have gotten it. Maybe they realize they lost a lot of sales on the elk by pricing it that high. (They wouldn't have cared if they lost SOME sales, but maybe they lost a LOT more sales than they thought they would, and were like, "Uh-oh. ... Maybe we overplayed our hand on that one.")
Or maybe they priced it that high on purpose in an attempt to train us to accept a 2,500 price for other items. Seems to have worked.

I doubt they are trying to maximize revenue on these items. I am pretty sure that part of the equation is keeping them uncommon in the game. People are willing to spend more on stuff that they think might be special (uncommon) in the game. As long as enough people buy them at the higher price, they are satisfied.
