Wait a minute....
Looking at the list of games bought last 6 years, Skyrim, kerbal space program, tomb raider (only mistake) ESO, fallout 4, master of orion and an game on the phone I have forgot.MasterSpatula wrote: »Paying real-world money for in-game anything is inherently bad, which ZOS understood at launch but chose to forget. Players pay money for the game itself so how is that different from paying money for utility and cosmetic perks i game? I'd say they are inherently the same as it's paying money for a video game experience and this is also not bad.
Expanding on your logic, any money spent on a hobby is inherently bad. I disagree.

Utter nonsense. I subbed quite happily for the first year. Buying access to the game was a no-brainer. I quit for a year after B2P, but I came back to the game because I badly missed the things I still loved.
I'm here for the story. I'm here to be a character in a world. My character's look, achievements, everything should be determined by what that character does in game and by not one single other thing. Period. If I can pay additional money for anything that affects my character, I'm playing an inferior RPG.
I wish the game had stayed sub-only. It's better for the integrity of the experience, and that integrity of experience is absolutely something I value highly.
I have exactly zero problem with you disagreeing with that. I do wish ZOS hadn't spent a year promising players who do agree with me that the game would always have that integrity, but so be it.
But I have a big problem with your deciding to "expand" my "logic" to a conclusion that bears no resemblance to anything a reasonable person would get to from what I said. It certainly looks like you've decided to disregard what people who disagree with you actually think and feel and decide for yourself that they actually think and feel something that allows you to look down on them.
Stop that. I know you're better than that, so be better.

Oh please, all companies charge a separate fee for their game expansions. This is a dead horse. If ZOS would have called this an expansion (what it actually is) instead of a "Chapter" there wouldn't be half the people complaining. Why they elected to call this a "Chapter" I will never fathom.
Please the horse has been way past dead for like a month now. Please stop.
