you get a motif (that has my favorite weapon design in the game) for completing Silver and a big Pot to wear on your head for completing Gold....also there are the skill points from quests and the areas, and the ever important XP

Thanks for all the replies. Got all my questions answered then more. It looks like I'm not gonna rush to get Caldwells done but will for sure knock out the main quest just to get those extra skill points/exp and familiarize myself with each area. I'll probably get it done whenever im bored or blazed. Questing is too redundant for me any other time Lol.

Yeah it looks like the Motif seems to be a big selling point for ppl. I'm actually not interested in crafting at all honestly. Sure I upgrade my drop sets here and there but not a big set crafter per say. If I do any crafting it would be through one of my guild mates who is a master crafter.

EDIT: I forgot to add, it goes fairly quickly if you only do the quests listed in Cadwell's Almenac. There's only like 5 per zone but they're the long drawn out ones because they're the main story quests from the factions and reward you with a skill point each. You don't have to do every quest in each zone unless you want the Hero of... title.

This is good info. Might do it with my crafter for the skillpoints then. Already enjoyed all storylines with seperate 'appropriate' characters :)

You know what, I didn't even think about that. I'm more than likely just gonna follow the Almenac and get the main ones done. That should shorten the time spent significantly.

its just annoying not knowing which quest are actually worth doing in terms of exp and which ones send you across the map for a measly 10K.

Take your time do other stuff, do quests then you feel for it. I enjoy questing with an alt now as I only did the quests back during launch.
However lately I have been filled up with dungeons and only time for the heists.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Yeah taking my time is always my problem. I'm not a very patient person and that translates to the gaming world as well lol.

I just want to get my PVP sets, make CP gainz, and make some gold. I know I may be missing out on treats here and there, like skimming a good book instead of reading but Im pretty limited on play time as it is. Plus Im much more interested in end game PVP than PVE.

I'm currently at 200CP and have grown tired of questing so I've put a hold on finishing the Caldwell's line. I'm trying to reach the CP cap as efficiently as possible without mindlessly grinding like a zombie. My question is, is it even worth completing the caldwells story line? Would I be missing much if I just continue to level using other methods?(dungeons, craglorn, dolmens, grinding, etc)

I'm just having a hard time finding the incentive to complete Caldwells silver/gold. Any input is much appreciated.

I did it on my primary crafter for the extra skill points. Doing it I also unlocked all the wayshrines in every zone, so my primary crafter can also go collect all the writ surveys in every zone when they pile up.

I stopped questing for a bit after hitting 160 Champion Points or so. Dabbled in PvP and mostly did group dungeons until at some point I thought I'd pick up the Cadwells again. It's worth it for the skill points, but from a roleplay point of view it's ridiculous.

That's kinda where I'm at now. Stopped questing once I hit CP 160 and started running dungeons for exp and sets. I spend most my PVE time running dungeons now. Not the greatest source of exp it seems but the group experience and gear sets make up for it.

Do you value your skill points? Because doing Caldwell campaigns give a few - and as somebody who has every skyshard in the game, every dungeon skillpoint - I can safely say I still needed those story based ones. For that matter all I have left now is Carglorn skillpoints to get....

The questing is also good if you don't think of it that way - grind for materials instead, check containers constantly and you'll get rich while you knock off boring quests.

In terms of XP and Gold - they're utterly worthless and a waste of time. Towards the end of Gold it felt like a chore. But getting the icons in every zone white is a nice feeling.

I guess it depends on what you're looking to do in the game.

Others have pointed out the xp bump on those quests, and enlightenment, and so on.

I am going to point out that if you plan at all on building up a pile of gold, having completed the cadwell silver and gold will give a good head start on the alliance hero achievement needed to buy the manor home for in game gold.

Go ahead and scoff at ever having enough gold to pull that off, but sell a few BiS items and you could be approaching halfway there.

So, alliance her is another reason to do the jolly old pot head's silver and gold questlines.

soul shriven motif? if you think this is a weak reward (meaningless to you), then I wouldn't bother with Cads questline cause to me thats about the size of it.

At least do the Almanac quests, the delves, the open-world skyshards, and the Public Dungeons for skill points.

Skill points . I don't know about you but I like every passive there is for PVP . I'm almost to 300 skyshards and I enjoy having several lines unlocked for swapping to without paying for respec every time .

I thought the Cadwell silver and gold were well worth doing, totally loved the whole thing on my first character :) ....never did it on my other 5 though :p .

Seriously, yes totally worth doing for the lore and all the well written stories!

silver only worth it for the motifs, gold for the achievements- but i did them anyway for my mains so i could have the 36 extra skill points for my main who i want to be able to craft everything. its alot more convenient to have one character do it all for me.

I bought the game and was well aware of how little I enjoy PVE. You must have missed the post where I said I play for the combat and PVP. If there was a way for me to be competitive in PVP without ever touching PVE I would be more than happy to do so.

I'm still very much running PVE content every day, probably even more so than PVP currently. Just cause I don't enjoy it doesn't mean its not helping me progress in content I do enjoy. (PVP)

Thanks for all the replies guys. After all the input, I still find little incentive to prioritize doing Caldwells for me personally. I do, however, plan on following the almanac and at the least completing each main quest line for each zone. I'm hearing conflicting things on the Exp gained, some say its garbage, others say its plentiful for the main quests at least. Only one way to find out.

The questing Exp is good. You MIGHT be able to grind Exp faster, but would miss out on the skill points. Also gives decent gear rewards (some set type stuff).

Priority? Nah, not really unless you find yourself short on skill points.

@KingKush you made a good point. You paid for the game and you can play it however you want to. I haven't tried any PVP yet, but I haven't gone all the way through Cadwell's silver or gold yet either. Well, that's not entirely true. I made it through silver, but not gold yet. I want to, but I get tired of being the same thing all the time....like constantly being a Templar or Dragon Knight or whatever. That's where I'm struggling.

Just whatever you do, enjoy yourself!!!! :)

You do get the achievements and dyes for it also, the dyes are quite nice dyes too.

The complete all quests for an alliance dyes are some of the best!

Plus each map has its own dye and some of the main storyline quests also give dyes.

For these alone I would complete all the alliance zones at least once.

Since I discovered that Cadwell's Silver and Gold only requires the four to seven quests per zone as listed in Cadwell's Almanac, I have found it worth while and rather easy to accomplish. Unlike my first two characters, when I did not understand what Cadwell's Almanac was. I simply did every quest in every zone in every faction. Yeah, that took a while :D

Thanks for the replies fellas. Pretty much answers my questions. I already skip all dialogue as it is. Could never take MMO story lines serious for some reason. If its not really impacting my character progression, I'd rather just skip it. I'll probably save it for when I have very little left to do, which I may never get to that point.

If the questing Exp was significantly better, that'd be a different story.

Any tips on content I should be running to get to that ever evasive CP cap?

Truth be told, ESO has better writing quality than Skyrim. Expect single player RPG's quality of questing.

But since you are a MMO gamer, not a TES gamer, I understand what you are coming from. Just the last advice, do yourself a favor and do not skip Orsinium. Might provide a different perspective.

Yeah everyone keeps telling me the writing is top notch especially for an MMO.

Same with Orsinium, I keep hearing its some of the best PVE content in the game. I haven't actually followed any of the story so far but will actually take my time with Orsinium. I need to see what all the hype is about. Thanks for the input
