The Bot Issue is Serious and NO Game Masters to Fight It

So, I'm seeing a heck of a lot more bots now, and I know they've been reported and recorded. I did post a video of bots running around the Drowned Coast dolmen in Greenshade awhile ago. I go there again, and THEY'RE STILL THERE. Ever since One Tamriel, there's been way more players using bots to run in endless circles or spam heavy attacks at dolmens. Are they taken care of? Of course not, because there's no Gamemasters to address these issues. C'mon ZOS, we report them all the time and yet you guys do nothing. Hire some more GMs for once.

I don't understand why people report them. From what i can see it's the same people doing this *** and they're there months later still doing it. If ZoS can't be bothered policing their game when others send in reports, I can't be bothered taking a second out from my gaming time to report them. The first dolmen you stumble upon in Auridon has been full of rubber banders on the PS4 since the 1T update. The entire dolmen is one huge lag fest at nights. Ruins it for those new to the game and visit the dolmen for the first time and ruins it for those who wish to play the game as it's intended to be played.

Of course, there are some people who say it's us that just want to play the game that's got the problem, that we should just go elsewhere and leave those who do this stuff to it. Plenty of other dolmens to be had etc etc etc. No doubt the same people who park their toons there.

Before anyone says bots don't affect the game, they do. They affect the economy by driving down the market price of mats (by creating oversupply).

Some people might think "who cares" but this creates an unhealthy economy. It also hurts legitimate farmers.

Even Blizzard takes it's time on banning bots. Why? To crush the entire program doing the botting. If they banned everything that is reported to them on day one of said botting, the people that make such programs would be 8 steps ahead going, oh they banned this person so this got detected change this, etc. They also do it to build up evidence. Blizzard has sued bot programs and won. League of Legends just won a 10 million dollar suit against botting. As always though, stuff like that takes time.

Keep reporting! The more of a trail you give Zos of when they are on, where, what they are doing, etc, gives them even more info on how to squish the program and in turn, extremely little wiggle room for the botter to say they were 'unrightfully banned'.

Hahaha What? People like me? someone who has reported the same people over and over again, yet here we are months later, the same people are still there every night doing the same thing that I wasted my life reporting them? ZoS do nothing, that was my point. If they did do something, I'd happily hit the report button again.

That's the only problem with botting. It ruins the economy.

The reason tempers sell for 20k on console is because you guys don't have access to Master Merchant and Tamriel Trade Centre. This makes it extremely easy for big trading guilds to manipulate market prices.

No, the bigger problems is ruining the gaming experience. At launch, delve bosses were botted to death. You didn't get to actually experience a fight. You also could grab the mats you needed when they disappeared at you approached.

I don't really care about prices dropping.

Yeah prices could drop tbh it's a game. Why you losers would invest time trying to build up an economy is beyond me. If we as gamers set prices they should be as low as possible. Why be rich in a game. Instead we charge as much as we can and make it harder all the way around. Sounds like real life except all the resources are fake.

Has anyone ever seen a game master ingame at all? On loadscreens sometimes I notice the text about them having a Z next to their name, but that's all, and I've been playing since launch. Maybe if they were present more often, botting would be reduced.

They have always been this way. ZOS has never really had an active presence within the game to fight bots.

The only reason it's noticeable now is because of how the bots are farming, previously they were just node farming in starter islands and Bal Foyen, it was easy enough to see and you would see the same names even if reported each day.

Sadly bots are part of an MMO and you will never find a clear solution which stops them outright, however I do agree ZOS could do more by having better GM services and maybe an in house security team which focus on such issues (this would help with policing Cyrodiil as well).

The best we can do is keep reporting them and keep banging on about it so they know the issues isn't going away fast, just be respectful no matter how frustrating it is.

Most if not almost all mmo's have game sage's. Surprising this is the 1st mmo that I've played that hasn't had themy. Which is really awkward. Idk if zos just doesn't care about the player community or if they're just here to rack in the money from the crown store. The botting and other things on PC is very bad. But all you can do is report and move on or have fun with the botters and pull mobs into them and kill them non stop. Yes it takes time away from your day but it's actually funny

ZOS' method of dealing with bots seems more to work via games development and not gamesmasters.

They do have staff who can look into it but as far as I know these are the same staff who handle support tickets (I've never heard ZOS talk about in house GM staff).

So when issues to do with bottling come up they usally change the game in a way to counter them rather than have an active presence within the game fighting them. Examples are the loot timers on bosses, character delete limit and Jessica posting recently they're looking at solving the Dolmen issues with changing geography/monsters.

What annoys me the most is seems more like corporate profit margins and BS stopping them getting an in house team than ZOS' decision to just not enforce it.

I was lucky enough to get a tour of CCP Games headquarters a couple of years ago and was actually able to go in and see their support/GM office. Just a small room with a bunch of people employed to answer support tickets and GM within the game.
They had a monitor on the wall stating how many tickets were outstanding and how many had been solved today.

Obviously CCP is a smaller company with no parent company and also caters to a smaller player base but I don't see why Zenimax Media and ZOS can't get something like this together on site at their studios to purely focus on botting/exploiting/cheating/cyber security and have the rest of the support tickets for general issues still handled by a support company.

Alloy hasn't sold for 20k in months. We're hitting a low of 9k right now, and as a farmer it's absolutely horrible.

I've seen hoards of bots roaming around, and my guild members have too. It's a very strange sight, having twenty-ish people running around in the exact same path doing the exact same thing. Also really hard to report twenty players before they run off. This is all PS4 NA.

Auridon used to be my favourite place to burn through enlightenment... you can hit all 3 dolmens in a row within a spawn frame of about 10 minutes... getting CPs every 15 min or so, sometimes less.

I stopped doing it because of these losers though, now only 2 of 3 dolmens are XP viable. The one near the started city is pure cancer. You're lucky if you hit anything - and let's be real, like 75% of a Dolmens XP yield is in the enemies themselves - not closing the anchors. Even if you do hit stuff - you still get it all the time where the boss drops nothing. Or you don't get XP even though your hit clearly registered. (I have an ability that gives health when I hit - and it gives health back, and yet I still don't get my contribution XP).

Half the time the cancer at the first Dolmen is so bad, that grass textures for the entire island of Auridon stop loading for me - leaving the game looking like Play-Doh land. So this issue doesn't just affect Dolmen farming - it actually affects my entire gameplay experience in Auridon. When the map can't load properly because 100 people are standing int he same place spamming, there's an issue.

Even stupider is that while they're ruining the experience for others - they're probably only making 5-20k exp from a dolment because they hardly hit jack sh*t but the last few enemies who spawn where they aim. It would be in everybody's best interest, including their own - if they didn't do this.

Have complained and reported many times and nothing done. So screw it, I left Auridon. And now I grind my daily Enlightenment in a different way.
