My Unofficial Crown Crate Stats, or 'How Much is that Wolfie in the Window?'

This is not an official, statistical overview. Just my impressions based on two seasons of Crown Crates.

Both seasons I used the same amount of crates: 80. Roughly that is 20,000 crowns and would normally retail for around $200. I am using the retail cost of crown packs for this post.

My Findings:

Each top-tier mount will cost you about $100. I got one in Season 1, and two in Season 2. However in Season 1 I drew the same Atro-Wolf card twice.

You will get about 200 Crown Gems per $100 spent. That is if you cash out everything you can. This could also be skewed as I am an avid collector and own most of the items that are recycled.

$200 will allow you to pick the top-tier mount of your choice. You will either get lucky and draw it or have enough gems to purchase it directly.

Misc: I could be wrong, as again I am just going on 'feelings', but there seemed to be more low end stuff rewarded in the second season. There also seemed to be some sort of skew towards the 'Bravil Puppy' (sp?). I drew it 7 times. Another guild member also commented on how often he got this card, but I can't say it's anything more than anecdotal at this point.

I didn't spend all my gems from Season 1, nor Season 2 because the mounts just don't appeal to me. I now have a little over 800 Gems stockpiled. I did make some purchases on items I wanted but didn't win in both Seasons, but they were minor.

I hope this helps someone who may be considering purchasing the Crown Crates. I didn't want any of the top tier mounts so I wasn't disappointed. However, if you are wanting a particular mount I believe you will end up spending between $100 and $200, depending on your luck.
The problem with arguing with a jackass is that they never stop braying.

Interesting, but the sample size is too low. If more people post their results that might help build a more significant analysis.

Or a law like they have in China.

In season 1 I had to open 36 crates before I got a top mount (the Cat) but in season 2 I only had to open 6 before I got one (the wolf)

We live in a truly amazing time- China has a law that protects the consumer and it is the odd one out, not the general rule.

And good stuff OP. I couldn't justify that amount of money, but those who can will surely like this data :)

You actually get about 400 Gems per $100 spent.

I received 500 gems in total after spending $120 on 49 crates.

But only the worth of all items together. Not with the dublicates you get.

I had 30 crates in total.
15 in the last season, and 15 now.

    0 !! mounts.

Only some *** stuff (in the 15 wild hunt ones only 1 epic, rest was even below..). And the for the duplicates and all usables sold I got 137 gems in total.
So...rng really really *** me up with this ***.

Yeah I don't claim these are hard numbers or anything. I could very well be waaay off on my assumptions. So take with a huge grain of salt.

I would trust @Enodoc 's work far more than anything else. In fact I need to find out how to contribute to the spreadsheet for the next Crown Crate Season because, if it is Dwemer, I will probably spend double what I normally do. And also for the Skeleton themed one. After those two though I can't think of anything that would appeal to me. I suppose we'll see.

Depends on how you look at it.

Gambling is one of the cornerstones of capitalism. People are more accepting of financial inequalities if there's even a snowflake's chance in hell of them becoming a rich *** themselves.

So China implementing a law to undermine gambling might not be entirely or at all about consumer protection.
