Master Writ Vouchers

Hey guys did a bit of research but I'd just like to ask a quick question.

I'm new to this whole master writ thing and don't do a lot of crafting admittedly, however I REALLY want to get my hands on the Ebony Greatsword motif, which apparently costs 25 vouchers.

How exactly do you obtain these vouchers, and with only 3 crafts maxed at 50 (Blacksmith/Clothing/Woodworking) how long am I looking at to obtain 25 vouchers?

Thanks for any help.

If you're on PC NA, the price of master writs has come down to about 2.0k-2.5k per voucher. So, as long as you can craft what is listed on the sealed writ, you can buy it from the guild stores (or another player) for 50k or 60k... and do the master writs immediately. Check around the guild stores, with friends, or with guildies.

Another option is to forget the writs altogether ... and have another player, friend, or guildie purchase the motif directly with their writ vouchers. As with most other motif pages, these are not bound.

Of course, doing your own max writs in an attempt to get a master writ drop costs zero. However, because master writs are a random drop with the max writ coffer, you're looking at anywhere from a day to a few weeks to accumulate 25 vouchers.

The Ebony Greatsword looks great by the way ... good choice. My stamblade is using it right now (pictured below).

Don't forget you will also need a few more writs to buy the ebony style mat!

Regarding your question, your best bet is to buy master writs that you can craft. If you are not in a hurry, the writs will be even cheaper as time goes by. Having patience will save you gold. Unless you have learned a lot of motifs and completed a lot of research, you have a low, but not impossible, chance of getting master writs. There is a good chance that you get writs that you can't craft. Thus, best bet is buying writs you can craft.

You might consider leveling alchemy. The only thing the system looks at for writ eligibility is trait knowledge. Learn all the traits, grind to fifty, do writs. I suggest this because I get 2-4 voucher alchemy master writs a lot. Enchanting too, but that's a longer grind.
