Yes and No. I don't have crafting bags anymore and won't be buying ESO+ anymore until ZoS makes the game better for now I ain't spending money on the game anymore.

Yes I take everything in PvE
No I leave the not so useful stuff behind in PvP sorry for whoever finds ta or the green runestones.

oh crap i misread this as saying if I found it annoying, for the record I don't leave crap, I take it all so the node respawns.

I'm confused, is there any reason not to leave behind items? I often run around with a nearly full inventory (no eso+ atm) so then I can only loot crafting mats that are already in my bag. Aren't node/chest contents instanced per player?

This happened to me exactly one time, then I spent $10 on an alt account so the next time I could mail the first treasure map to my other account and pick up the second one.

    Never happened to me again.

I only take the worms and such. Fishing is the best part of ESO. I could fish all day long.
Worms are only 1 of the 8 types of fishing baits. You should know that if you enjoy fishing as much as you say!

Worms, Chub, Guts, Minnows, Insect Parts, Shad, Crawlers, and Fish Roe.

The respawn rate isn't affected by stuff "left" behind.

A respawn will occur even if no one touches it. There have been plenty of times I'd get to a node and it disappears on me, meaning there's an in-game cycle which isn't relative to a player's interaction with it.

I use autoloot, so farming runes i always take them all (also craftbag, woo). Though I'll occasionally leave items in chests if my inventory is full while mat farming.

I leave lockpicks in troves as a protest. I'm pretty sure every single trove in Tamriel is fewer than 50 feet away from a container that probably has a lockpick. You can buy lockpicks. Any serious chest hunter has at least 100 in inventory.

I don't want them replaced with anything. I just permanently want lockpicks permanently removed from troves permanently.

Not only do I take everything, but even when there is one of those worthless weapon, jewelry, or armor pieces, I take it, and experience no small measure of spiteful joy destroying ZOS' trolling garbage. Those items should not exist in Tamriel at all. Not really clear how often, or exactly what containers respawn, but consider it a public service for the common good.

I don't expect others to do the same, and if all I find is a TA or a Worm, those are useful to me as well.

Once, exactly once, I left an item in a chest because my inventory was full. I ran back to town to sell/decon stuff, ran back to the chest, but someone had already taken the one item.

    I felt guilty.

Depending on how long you were gone, it might have disappeared naturally. Chests are easy to see if they have been touched. They are unlocked. I skip those, personally.

They are not instanced. Once you open it, you set the contents for anyone that comes along after you and takes the stuff, or until it de-spawns, which ever comes first. With crafting nodes, that can be interesting. You could open a Rubedite Ore node and find iron because someone else saw the node as Iron Ore, looked, but did not take the iron ore.

One of my favorite PVP stories of all times: I was riding from keep to keep and saw a columbine. I stopped to grab it and just saw crawlers (or worms, can't remember). Right as I was thinking to myself, who does this nonsense, I get a burst from a ganker. I somehow managed to survive and kill him.

I sent a message, "Haha, nice trap, but it didn't work out to well did it". His response, "LOL, it did the first 5 times." I burst into laughter. It was pretty good.

The respawn timer begins when the person who first opens the node/chest exits the looting menu. It doesn't make any difference if the node/chest is empty or not.

The problem is, thanks to zone overcrowding from 1T, someone WILL find that resource before it resets.

I often think this behavior comes more from newer players who don't realize how rude it is to leave things behind causing the boxes/chests/nodes not to respawn in a timely fashion. I admit I did this when I first started, not realizing the impact it had on other players, but when I learned, I started taking EVERYTHING and then just 'destroying' the things I didn't want or couldn't sell. That is what new players need to learn, you can take the things you don't want and then just destroy them every so often to clear inventory.

I have auto-loot on or I always Press R and then check what I got otherwise.

They definately should treat opened treasure chests like mob corpses: instanced loot with a de-spawn timer. This should solve this annoying problem IMO.

I take everything. Everything is worth something. It does kind of suck to go pick a node and only get crawlers or some other kind of nonsense with no main items. You can tell when someone has selectively harvested that node. And if I run into a bunch along my farming trail I get annoyed and reroute. It really isn't my goal to only get lame items when I am out farming.

On my main account in NA with full inventory slots, full bank slots, banker and merchant assistants... Yes, autoloot everything. No reason not to.

On EU with new characters with 60 inventory spots and no banker/merchant... No, take what I need and move on. At least until I get enough inventory to turn on auto loot. Mind you if it's a ww/cloth/bs/alchemy I want everything in it. Enchanting things will be left behind. Chests are iffy based on exactly how much inventory I have, I usually want everything in them for decon/sales.

I don't believe I should waste my time because of a huge flaw in the game itself.

The nodes arent personalised. If you leave stuff inside they wont respawn woth new mats.
