Flipping the Market

So I've seen a lot of people talk about a good way to get rich in this game is by buying low, selling high. Makes sense. If you buy the right stuff. I recently ventured out and bought a few things that were way under priced (according to MM). But it's a matter of what will actually sell too. Anyone use this method for making gold? What kind of stuff should I be on the lookout for when trying to make gold this way? I found mountain flower for 12g ea, that seemed like a no brainer

Poison. Seriously. I had 22k yestersay, bought 1.5k alkahest and then crafted poisons and sold them all and just from that I made 110k - not includoing my expenses, that was pure profit. I have 130k now. Ive still got solvent leftover too.

Poison sales are OP. You male 16 poisons a go and if theyre made with alkahest they sell for 5 a piece... Thats literally 80 gold for one craft. Madh the button 100 times and youre laughing. Preas it 1.5k timea ans qatch the profits soar. Its boring but if you can sustain the ingredients youre looking at some serious profit.

I think they're talking about selling them to npc's. It's a variation on the fishy sticks get rich quick scheme lol

They are talking about buying any item that sells fast at a cheap price and bumping the price up.

Motifs, upgrade mats, certain sharpened set items. Certain reagents, the new mats, etc. If you find any of those cheap you can easily flip and make a profit.

    Made millions doing this.

Actually, using up excess Provisioning and Poisoning Ingredients and vendoring the results to an NCP Merchant is quite the gold flow.

200 Foods at 5 Gold each, 1000 gold.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Gary Gravestink "I am glad you died, I needed the help"

you should be cautious using mm. it is only the average of the trade guilds you are in. rather than looking at the end result look at the trends in the data.

Haha, this practically drives the high end trade guilds. People with 20 million in sales in a week didnt farm all that stuff. They buy low, sell high. It is very effective on commodities, potions, tempers, ingredients, etc., but the real money comes from flipping high end items. This is end game for some people (not me personally).

Of course, there is always a risk. Markets fluctuate. Easy to get caught holding the bag if you arent careful.

MM has this built into it already. If you press Shift the price will reflect the past 10 days sales, and if you press CTRL you will see the past 3 days. You can also tell it to overlook the random outliers as well. You can also tell it to skip a particular guild store (for instance a crafting guild that sells research pieces to it's own members for considerable discounts.) This way, those purchases will not have an effect on the price that is shown.

Not sure which reagents you are using, but many of them sell for more than 80g each. Seems like selling reagents might actually net you more profit. If the 2 reagents were 40g each, that's 80g selling just them.
