Most games that turn into movies are terrible. Final Fantasy the Spirits Within is perfect proof of that.
But, then again most movies turned into games are even worse. ET anyone, it was so bad Atari put them all in a landfill.

I want to see the world come alive. Bad or good, just need to imagine how the world would look and feel. Final Fantasy did with Advent Children and Kingsglaive and it was good treat for the fans. Eso would look amazing in movie form.

The cynic in me suggests that they would decide to make a $100 million movie, fund it for $50 million, and release the movie incrementally over the next few years by adding to it and rewriting parts of it quarterly.

I don't OBJECT to the idea of an Elder Scrolls movie, but as many of you have already said - I would have concerns about it being good. In addition to the usual moviemaker track record for making bad movies out of video games, half the fun in Elder Scrolls is the ability to wander around exploring - something you can't really do in a movie.

No because after a while of charging admission, they'd let people in for free but then the ushers would walk through the aisles every 5 minutes trying to sell concessions.

If based off elder scrolls lore, then sure.

If based of actual story lines from the games, then no. You can't fit 30-50 hours if content into a 1.5 hour movie.

Though I would love to see a xp grinding montage.

I quite liked Spirits Within, personally. Advent Children was ok. Could have been much better. Big part of it's problem was that it was catering entirely to fans of FFVII. Anyone who hadn't played that before would be completely lost and wouldn't enjoy it at all.

Movies based on video games are often maligned but I think the ESO movie will be the best of the genre. Also this movie will break new ground by discarding the traditional frame-rate of Hollywood movies (24 frames per second) and instead having a variable frame rate that will start at 30FPS and then dip down to 8FPS during intense action scenes for increased realism.

A live tv series would be better, where you can tell stories from each race and cultural point of view.

Which would take multiple seasons.
