nightblade or sorcerer wizard/warlock?

normally i play mellee in games, im wanting to try a tanky caster very similar to a warlock in wow. what class would fit this role? Doesn't nightblade has some dots and tankiness? I also want to know the difference in playstyle between Magicka and Stamina builds. Hybrid builds arn't a thing right? if i remember correctly stamina increases weapon damage and and their aiblities, and magicka works on your class abilities. If thats the case couldnt any class be a stamina build since it focuses on the weapon and not the class?

I'll help with what information I can, although I am not going to give you a great class recommendation as I don't know the WoW Warlock well enough to make a comparison.

Some class skills now have Stamina morphs to balance the game out more.

Magicka/Spell Damage/Spell Crit - Works on anything which costs Magicka (unless skill states otherwise).
Stamina/Weapon Damage/Weapon Crit - Works on anything which costs Stamina (unless skill states otherwise).

Light Armour - Magicka DPS
Medium Armour - Stamina DPS
Heavy Armour - Tanking / Some niche DPS/PvP builds.

Hybrid builds are possible but generally are far weaker (and thus less worth it) than specialising in the Stamina/Magicka split, generally only tanks use hybrid builds (but not all of them).

Nightblade - Defence comes from stealth or shields (no class shields, light armour/resto staff skills).
Sorcerer - Defence comes from shields.

Magicka dragonknight. Lots of fire (immolation warlock), the dragon wings/spikes could feasibly be demonic in nature, if you spec stamina you get green (fel) Fiery breath and the claw slash.

If you really want to have summoning you could, I suppose, run the monster set that occasionally spawns a fire breathing daedroth to fight for you.

Guess it depends if you're more after the Fiery warlock or the shadowy warlock. I play a magicka dragonknight but mine is built to be less warlock and more mage, using a lightning staff for a good mix of fire and lightning area spells.

@Lynx7386 i should have a max level dargonknight already, i was going to play him melle, maybe ill try him as a caster too and not make a new toon if i can switch between specs

I initially leveled my dragonknight as melee when the stamina morphs were added in, and while it was fun at the time I've been having a lot more fun with that character as a caster now, especially after getting some monster sets together. I normally rum ilambris, which causes lightning storms or meteor showers whenever you deal lightning or fire damage, and the aoe power is amazing.
