Magicka NB pve&pvp

datboitodd
I am trying to get into a magicka based NB (breton) for pve and pvp (more into pvp).

Just seeing if they are viable and what weapons i should choose? Seeing as ill be dumping my points into magicka i was curious about what weapons would even be ussful.

Is heavy armor better for more defense since i want will be a rag doll waiting to be tossed around?

Thanks for any responses in advance

Heavy Armor or light its up to your preferences (if you enjoy casting shields more often).

I just feel like any weapon skills i wont use often except for passives.
And i think im going to go with light armor for more magicka and regen. Heavy just seems so odd on a stealth character.

Staffs are good: when you're tired you can use it to help you walk, and when you're in a fight then you can use it as a weapon :p

The 3 Destro Staves and the Resto Staff are the only weapons you'll need for your Mag NB. For PvE I would suggest a Fire Staff and a Lightning Staff whereas for PvP you can use any element on Front Bar and a Resto Staff on back

PvE, you'll need Light Armor. There's no other way around. Get a set of Julianos, Scathing Mage or Burning Spellweave and combine it with Willpower or Aether Jewelry and a Monster set. Grothdarr or Skoria are solid picks

For PvP you can choose either Light or Heavy. There's a few good Heavy sets out there for Mag NB, although a Light Armor setup is still strong

My Magblade is more or less AoE monster and can do pretty much anything in PvE.

Now this is no way near meta and will never be. I do my own builds and this works just fine for me.

    Pros of this build:

    - Easy to play
    - Deals very good AoE damage
    - Loads of heals & Shield
    - Can solo most of the content

    NB enthusiastic:
    1. Woodhippie stamblade - DW hard-hitter / PvE
    2. Know-it-all elf Magblade - Healer / PvE & PvP
    3. Hate-them-all elf Magblade - Destrostaff AoE monster / PvE
    4. Cyrodiil-Refugee stamblade - Stamina Tank / PvE

    Go dominion or go home

Nightblade-Hipster. I played Nightblade before it was cool - from 1.5 onwards.

Honestly Im trying to figure out why your DPS is so low, while using that complex rotation and also sacrificing the range advantage by wearing gothar LOL

Im not saying you cant have fun with that build or solo stuff, any decent level MagBlade can solo stuff, just saying I wouldnt recomend that build to a new player because the risk/reward its not worth it, that build is not easy to play, neither ''efficient'' at all...

Because i don't use Firestaff / Cripple / Grim focus that increases single-target DPS a lot.

Soloing hardest content requires bit knowhow, but imo this is very suitable for new players, as this has really good amount of shields & self healing.

Not only your single target is low, your AoE is low too... New players need to see the real potential of a class to get an idea how far they can go. Your bulid is inefficient as hell. As I said before, you can have fun playing like that but dont you dare recomend that to people.

Your nb build its like having a main bow build, is it fun? Yes, is it ideal? No... There are other builds that can do exactly what you are doing without that mess of a rotation, same survival (or even more) and way more dmg and faster killing.

Also range advantage > shields... You dont need shields at all if bosses cant even get closer to touch you...
