15mbps is totally fine. I had that speed for while until I upgraded to 100mbps. But it's totally fine :)

But you won't be able to SharePlay, your upload speed would be way too low. Just an FYI if you ever thought of doing that.

I'm on overseas assignment currently and it works fine with 1Mbps 3G tethering. Its about the signal strength of your isp I suppose

If it's satellite internet, usually even if the download speed is fast (they can go up to 50Mbps), the latency will still be prohibitively high (600-800ms+) because the speed of light is a constant.

It simply takes time whenever you press a button on your controller for the signal to make the rather long round trip out to space, then back down to a relay station somewhere which is connected to ISP backbone, then to ZOS servers.

If you're running Dish, you're running satellite. Your ping will be at a minimum of 600 or so, but you can expect up to 3k at peak time, to almost disconnecting, depending on your service and other factors. I run Hughesnet, and it is going to be a shock for you. But it is playable. Just watch your data cap. If you get throttled, you will not be able to do more than log in.

It sucks. Period. But you will be able to play.

EDIT: And don't count on setting a static IP. Sattie ISPs generally don't let you do that, or you pay a premium for it. If you're lucky.

I've played at work (I work nights) on my laptop tethered to my phone and it's playable, wouldn't want to pvp like that though. I think the 3G signal had about 8Mbps but it hardly touched my data usage so would have needed less. Latency will have more affect on your gaming experience, so you could improve things by plugging your ps4 into your router, rather than use wifi. But as someone else said, you probs only need about 1Mbps.

1mbps is fine. I think it has more to do with ping/latency. But downloading updates and DLC will take you awhile maybe a week lol.

Your Mbps doesn't really have much to do with it. That's basically your download speed, it has nothing to do with how good your connection will be to a games server. That is purely based on distance between you and the server and optimization.

So let's say you live out of the USA, far away from North America and play on the NA server. You're going to be seeing a constant 250+ ping every single day, no matter what. If you live in North America, you're ping is going to be under 100.

Now that I think of it, we're in 2017 and still suffering with crap technology that's not getting updated any time soon, then you look at Hong Kong who have so much better technology than we have and feel like a prehistoric cave man.

The crap they're serving us on plates these days is unacceptable. They think we don't know about the better technology out there and leave us on the same old fossilized technology. When are we going to catch up with Hong Kong?

I never lag in any situation... sydney australia.... pvp with 200 people zerg no worries. lol.

But previously I had adsl which was 6mb down and 1mb up which was also fine a bit jumpy but more or less fine. Pvp with that speed though was a big no no .

6mbps is generally ok for console but you have to put your family in an elevator while you play.
