As a subscriber, I wish this were an option. However, your point of view seems overly optimistic. I don't think the revenue from the Crates is necessary at all; not that there's such a thing as making too much money, but they're probably making more than enough to get by.
The only thing subscribers are ever likely to get is a few free Crates per month; 4 a month, the mid-tier pack, seems the most likely, and I base this on the fact that the Crowns offered to subscribers are also a mid-tier pack. Some have argued that we already get enough Crowns for 4 Crates, but this comes with with the drawback of being unable to buy anything else from the store if we spend them on potential prizes. As Crown Crates are a new feature that didn't exist when the subscription feature was launched, I agree with your notion that it's only fair to add in some sort of related bonus.
Make no mistake though, they're never going to offer the Crate items for individual purchase of any kind; this is especially true of the Apex mounts appearing in each season. That undermines the whole mechanic, and the money generated from new subscribers pales in comparison to the money generated by people investing in blind luck.
Great idea, but they'd have to limit it to a certain number of gems per month out of necessity. Otherwise people would just sub for one month, buy half a million gems, then unsub.LordNilloc wrote: »How about the option to directly purchase gems with crowns for subscribers?

Then again, ZOS would get the money for the half million gems, so maybe they wouldn't care. LOL!

The honest truth here is that ZOS does not need revenue, they can afford a superbowl commercial and are just straight forward money hungry wolves.
Subscribers do need more than what we're getting now though, that's for sure.

Pretty much this. Subbing doesn't equate to free things. You're paying for the bonuses you get. There's nothing wrong with the OP's idea at all. It'd probably generate more stable subscriptions as well.

Nothing wrong except that it dramatically reduces revenue from crown crates. Your $15 doesn't make up for the extra $70+ you'd spend on crates because you just have to have a specific apex mount. (And that's being conservative.) Not unless they cost $70 by themselves. Not to mention the "specialness" of said mounts vaporizes since EVERYONE buys one.
No. This is an attempt to bypass the crown crate system entirely and as such I cannot give it my support. You want something specific out of them, suck it up and roll the dice just like everyone else.

Woah there buddy. I think you're jumping the assumption gun. I didn't say jack about Apex or Legendary rewards. I don't expect 100 gems for 1000 crowns. Do you even KNOW what I use Crown Crates for? Of course you don't. Because you ASSUMED I use them for cosmetic use. That's a perk. What do I go after in the crates? Utility. Considering that subscribers pretty much get shamed for ASKING for their money's worth? What do we get?
I'd spend my crowns there... so far, I only found a few small items in crown crates I really wanted, and usually bite the bullet, buy some crates and exchange crap for croen gems, then buy that one hat i wanted with those. I'd much rather buy it directly... or be able to buy a "crown gem crate" directly and then spend the gems. The solution is simple: create a sub only store front, where we can purchase Crown Crate items directly.
