A world where everyone respects each other has never happened and I doubt it ever will happen - especially in our lifetimes. So expecting the ESO moderators to accomplish something no one else has been able to achieve in over 200,000 years of human existence (especially in an online environment such as this) is unreasonable.

If someone is offending you I would just use your ignore button. Problem solved. Because as evidenced by today's events - the developers have more important things to worry about, like getting their servers to work better.

Omitting a problem never solved anything. Everyone knows that a practice that is more than 3000 years old (I speak of slavery not just by creed, color or gender) will not be solved in a game or by the internet. But, as a warning and pondering, sorrow in the conscience of all this testimony I have done here.

Again, omitting facts do not change facts, actions change and I do not treat someone specifically - and I can do this via support - but this time it will be on the level of ideas, or is racism 'in game' debated is prohibited in forum?

    Do not try friend!

I'm not suggesting that you omit the problem. I'm suggesting that you solve the problem by putting the poster who is offending you on ignore. In other words: the problem you are describing already has a solution.

Expecting everyone on ESO to respect each other is not a reasonable goal. It's just not going to happen - no matter how many times you report others.

What kind of change are you hoping to see?

If you want Zenimax to do anything you need to report the person who was being offensive. Zenimax can't watch chat all the time (there are too many channels) so unless someone is reported they will never know what they said and can't do anything about it.

If you just want that person to stop another option is to put them on your ignore list so you never see anything they say.

If you want them to change their views...well that's probably impossible but it requires someone discussing it with them or somehow giving them experiences which show them they were wrong.

OP, meaning no disrespect to your concerns, but the modern tendency to cry racism at the drop of a hat has totally devalued the term.

It's about trying when and where you can be effective. Trying to get trolls to stop trolling and edgelords to stop being edgy just won't happen by external pressure. Most of them grow up and grow out of it, but by you paying them any mind at all, you are "feeding the trolls"... which is what they want.

Some people just enjoy confrontation. If you do not enjoy confrontation, do not willingly engage in conversation with a confrontational person on the internet. Leave them to spin their wheels, screaming at no one, because everyone has put them on ignore. Join in that cause, and then have fun with the game. :)

People are allowed to have personal opinions and to express them, even if they are wrong or offensive. If you disagree then articulate a response or add them to your ignore list. Just because someone can express themselves doesn't mean they have a right to be heard.

Also, try not to equate racist words with racist actions. When you do that you demean true human suffering.

While I don't condone racist words, I disagree very much with this statement. Free speech is more important than peoples feelings. And hurt feelings isn't suffering, it's hurt feelings.
