no its not, but i thought the whole point was that every race can craft imperial and turn gear into imperial - so this only works if your character IS an imperial?

You can't change the looks of unique (named) items or dropped set items.

Might be more that can't be converted, not sure...but there's a few restrictions anyway.

yes. that's what the imperial edition allows. you can roll an imperial toon and it will be able to craft it's own race gear without having to find a motif for it (just like all the other races) and have the ability to convert other race gear to imperial. if you convert other gear to imperial it binds to your account.

Also you don't need to be an Imperial to convert, just need to be Imperial to automatically know Imperial motif for crafting (like for any other race who knows its own motif).

Nope wrong. You don't need to be Imperial to convert gear.

so i can convert to imperial style even if im not an imperial? this seems not to work for me...even for normal gear, i nowhere have an option to convert it to imperial?

can you also find the imperial motif like the other races or only buy it?

Like I said above there are restrictions on what you can convert.

You're rightclicking the item to try right? That's where you get the option if converting the item is at all possible.

um..... the account is the imperial edition.... the conversion applies to the account. the base crafting ability only applies to imperial toons....

Only the imperial race can craft imperial. Though should be able to convert gear to imperial. I think named gear or dropped set bonus cannot be converted.

I know early in the game I converted some gear using a Breton and it worked fine though some gear did not have the option to do so. I have not tried since because it is not a motif I have liked.

That's not what you said - note the bolded part "AND have the ability" - but nice attempt to save face though :P
