There was someone at the Elden Root wayshrine slinging that "mudball" at everyone that came by... if I wasn't in a hurry, I would have reported him for griefing. It's one thing to do stuff like that to people you know, but to stand there at a transit station and do this continuously, that kind of childish behavior needs to be reported.

Griefing? ROFL, if you think that's griefing you haven't played an online game before. Sending flagrantly false reports could turn out bad for you though.
If you let people know it annoys you, they are going to do it more.

Mmmm i love snowflake's tears. This was almost as funny as the one about turning all the house lights off.

i don't really get why you'd say this lol. the mudball being thrown on you in a dye station essentially prevents you from doing what you were doing (can't see). you can stop people from entering a house, but not from throwing the mudballs on you while using a dye station. this is an understandable complaint.

I think a solution would be to somehow make it so that no effects can go onto other players using things like dye stations.

As a law-abiding citizen of Tamriel, when witnessing a murder, the murderer gets a mudball. Maybe two. Hopefully one day ZoS will actually give us some sort of game mechanic to react to all the blatant homicide that goes on, but until such time it's the humble mudball. I'm thankful for them.

I challenge them for a trial by combat. They mostly decline, though.

You know you're getting petty when this is your complaint.

My first thought was "what is that square on his stomach? is this the anti-teletubby?"

A lot of mementos seem to have gained the ability to affect others when they were self-targeted before, and should be again. It breaks animations, especially for the box of forbidden relics black sacrament animation that has you stabbing the ground while the other player gets a circle of candles and the heart at their feet for no reason.

FYI, any transform memento you use on yourself will erase the mudball graphics from your character, or at least hide them for the duration and prevent reapplying it.

If someone is using the mud balls on you while you're in the Dye station, find his name and report him.

I know for certain that some people were temporarily banned by ZOS due to grieving with excessive ability use near Dye stations in the past, so this must also qualify as a "warning" cause too.

Just take a screenshot, and report him in-game.

I do know one person who was reported, Zos sent him a silly message and he did not get banned. Unless you know someone who got banned and said so then I doubt this is happening and probably something else is involved.

It would be not so bright. Zos designed the mudball memento without any CD and they ban some peeps. LOL. Would be the most absurd thing ever if they actually did banned players for using the memento as it was designed.

I'm almost positive the intent of this memento had nothing to do with griefing people at dye stations. That is a player invention. Toolbag no-life players will always find ways to troll innocent people. I don't think it'd be absurd at all if a griefer were banned.

Personally, the mudball is the only must-have memento for me as it actually can be used to generate ult outside of combat.

I think, there just needs to be a setting where people can opt-out of being effected by mementos.
Repeatedly asked for ever since the first one appeared, ZOS refuse to provide this option so one has to assume they want to encourage the griefers.

Dye shop inside house... no prob.

but i can agree with the notion of mudball opt-out or at the very least a significant timer lockout like say 10m between can be hit.

Mud-ball to the face to random players that are in world => OK
Mud-ball to the face to players that are using dye stations to customize their colors => Grieving.

That's pretty clear in my book.

    EDIT: typo

Griefing. I know, it shows up as a spelling error. Griefing is the act of tormenting a player with the intent of tormenting them. Grieving is the act of dealing with some traumatic event or loss. So, griefing has the goal of provoking grieving, but most of the time it only generates some salt and rage.

Thank you! I wasn't sure so I decided to follow the spell checker, though it seemed somewhat dubious :)

You misunderstand me... I didn't say that someone got banned due to this memento. What I said was that someone got temporarily banned due to using abilities that cause blinding lights targeting players while in the dye station. That was before the memento, and very near the patch where they released the dye stations for the first time.

I do not know who it was or when it happened, though. It was someone who commented on one of my guild chats about that event happening to someone he knew...
