I don't understand the problem. You don't like the activity - you don't do it. I like it, and still it daily for 6 months since I am back, and I am never alone at the quest giver, so guess a lot of people like it.

It's a game, choose what you enjoy.

There are only few things which are mandatory in ESO - book hunting for mage guild, PvP to lvl 7 for vigor. Everything else is optional.

I did all those quests for the achievements on my Khajit stamblade main..

Step 1: become a vamp - Dark Stalker is OP removes sneak move speed penalty..
Step 2: 5pc Night Mother's Embrace and 5pc Night Terror, with the racial passive I can sneak and stand right in front of the non- torch NPCs and still not get detected.. Perfect example of Hide in plain sight.. lol

with this setup only thing I had to avoid was to literally bump into NPCs there was no other way I get detected.

I play how I want to.

I don't do Sacraments or Heists very often these days, but I'm with you in terms of enjoying them. I find them to be a fun change of pace from normal PVE gameplay. Back when I was farming motifs for both of them I was doing up to 12 Sacraments and/or up to 12 Heists a day, and it didn't feel like a chore because I was actually enjoying them.

It could be worse, at least they give you up to 5 chances to get caught before you lose your perfect status. Imagine if getting caught once lost a perfect? That would be brutal. >:)

Loads of great advice already in this thread but it obviously gets easier the more you do them and learn the patterns on each map. Some maps are easier than others. For instance, that one cave map with the dude playing the flute. Super easy perfect and it's literally right next to the start.

I made a thread kinda complaining about the same thing in relation to the motifs: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/318843/i-now-know-why-people-pay-for-motifs#latest

I think a perfect run should ALWAYS give you a motif. It's ridiculous it does not.

Also, I agree with you that murdered NPC's should never return. It's a dumb mechanic. I've been caught a few times where the NPC literally spawns as I'm there.

Dude, you're nuts. How much /play time do you have if you combine all of your accounts?

12 toons running them you must have gotten the full motifs in like a week. lol

I never made any wild claims about being sane :p And yes, I got full motifs pretty damn quickly, although at times it was getting discouraging when I'd have the same page drop 5-8 times in a single day lol.

As far as how much /play time I have total... This is a little bit out of date, but not by much:

Yes it does. Once the target is dead you have 2 minutes to get out, and that can be impossible if the guards are in a bad place.

Not really. It just means you spend some time watching and learning the patrol routes BEFORE you make the kills. Frankly after getting so many fails from the annoying Heist timer, the sacraments are a godsend to me as it means I can take my time, map my path, and see who I need to eliminate before reaching my target. That way when I break for the exit I know exactly where to go to remain undetected. I don't even need to change my bars for the sacrament, because that indefinite 'planning' period before killing my target means I could spend an hour in that dungeon scoping everything out with no trouble.

That and I've yet to have an issue with the Blade of Woe so I haven't experienced the usual frustration everyone here seems to have.

That being said ZOS, you should rework heists to remove the timer until AFTER you complete the objective. Having a ticking clock during the mission makes me, and I'm sure plenty of other players, more accident prone as they try to get everything done and still have enough time to make it back. Compared to my perfect sacrament streak for the last week, I've only had 1 successful heist through sheer dumb luck.

OP, I started out with the same experience as you. What I did to make them a lot easier is this: crafted a cheap 5pc Night's Silence cp150 set (only requires 2 traits, I believe) and bought some cheap Night Mothers Embrace pieces (for the decrease stealth detection).

Night's Silence removes the speed penalty when in stealth, so that you are actually jogging while in stealth. This is so important for beating the timers in both the Sacraments and Heists. The decreased detection allows for you to sneak (jog) by everyone but the lantern holders.

Since getting those 2 sets, I haven't failed the time limit in a single Heist and have been able to run almost every Sacrament perfectly. The only time I trip up on Sacraments is when I get too cocky or impatient, letting multiple NPCs spot me.

I also suggest making sure you learn the secret passages and secret areas for each map. There aren't many maps, so these should be rather easy to learn. There should be some maps out there if you Google it.

ETA: I only put on that gear for doing my thieves guild and DB quests, which I try to knock out all at once.

This is very good advice. I was struggling with these as well and once I switch to these sets it was a night and day difference. I didn't even upgrade them to epic just bought blue pcs because the quality doesn't affect the 5 pc bonus.

You can also do them with a friend, you have to stay fairly close to each other but it goes by much faster. And a someone else said use rapids.

That said, I do have one issue: The Dark Brotherhood Motif Page drop rate. It's abysmal.

I routinely finish the Sacrament Quests perfectly; spotted zero times, main objective and all secondary objectives completed, and the RNG chance to get a page has had the bottom drop out of it. The Sacraments used to be pretty reliable for delivering pages. I do the Sacraments across three characters, and out of those three, at least 1-2 of them would get a page every day.

Over the last two months though, that chance has dropped significantly, and I'm lucky to pull a page every three (3) days on just one character.

The Sithis equipment I always get won't even sell at Trading Guilds. Even when priced at 2k or less, nobody wants this Set, as there are much better Sets out there that drop.

So while I love the Black Sacraments, I have to wonder: Pages have dropped off in frequency, and I've got a flood of Sithis Set items that I can't even give away, what incentive is there for me to keep doing the Sacrament Quests?

THIS! The only reason that I suffer through these every day is to try to complete my motif collection. Getting a motif should be guaranteed if you complete it flawlessly, just like the Heists. So sick of doing these over and over, and only getting worthless gear as my reward FOR A PERFECT RUN. It's BS.

It's still a little frustrating that a perfect run isn't a guaranteed drop. But with the tips and help from y'all, it's at least going better for me.

    Main objective - kill target
Optional - no alert, overseer, weapon, additional target
    So 5 objectives total

What I think would be a good payout:
*Perfect Run: guarantee motif page, style mat, purple equipment (even if I don't want Sithis gear, can still decon)
*4 Objectives complete: 50% motif drop, style mat, blue equipment
*3 Objectives complete: 10-15% motif drop, green equipment
1-2 Objectives complete: no motif, green equipment

It wouldn't have to be this exactly, but this seems like a much better payout/reward for the effort, imo.
