Overload still worth it for VMA?

With the ult cap decreased to 500, I feel like by the time I get 500 ult in VMA, I use it up in like 5s. Is there a better ult to run in VMA for mag sorc? I thought about the destro ult but im not sure if I would still be better off with overload.

Front bar destro ultimate, back bar bar overload. Overload until 213 Ultimate and then drop destro ultimate.

I don't use it anymore as it doesn't fit my playstyle in there too good, but it's definitely still strong.

nah, pet build (necro+illambris+moondancer) is much better. But energy OL is still best ulti for mag sorc I would say, however, there is no point of making vMA build around it like it was previous patch

Yea Ive been trying to get illambris but I can't get the shoulder to drop from the chest. Thanks

Pet builds (helmet) builds are fine and require 0 skill and you won't be seeing any amazing scores either.

BSW/IA/Llambris does amazing well even after this patch.

In relation to elegant: I've always managed around that 500 mark so it's still valid it just requires more micro management.

IMO, scathing or julianos is still my choice due to the crit the sets give over BSW and the healing received.

I've decided to drop overload completely for destro ulti and suppression field on both my stam/mag sorcs.

Destro/DW: Molag Kena + Julianos + Elegant

Still a strong choice, especially if you like kiting playstyle. Creamtorial guards take 3 hits to admitt my powers! However, this build needs better management now. Dark conversion on Overload Bar helps this playstyle a lot.

But still haven't figured if Flame or Lightning staff fits the most.
Flame staff provides good single target burst including huge fragments crits whilst lightning gives good AOE damage and is increased by sorc passives. Lightning blockade + minor vulnerability + implosion are proving better for me but still can't decide. Any answer on this would be apreciated.
