Homestead Impressions as a Crafter
Things I really like so far:
- The housing editor. The flexibility and ease of use has really been a joy.
- Master Writs. In general, I like the system, and it has made me quite a bit of gold.
- Craft stations. There's just nothing quite like doing writs with cherry blossom trees and a waterfall in the background.
- Furniture crafting. I love that furniture is craftable instead of Crown Store only. This was a huge thing for me.
Things I hate:
- Needing to leave my home to do writs. I reeeeeealy want a writ pick up and turn in board.
- No access to guild bank / store. I want to actually spend time in my home, not stand in a mass of 30 overlapping toons in a city bank listening to the door open and close a million times.
- Low item limits for larger houses. There should be a way to purchase more item slots, preferably in-game, but Crown Store would be fine too. I'm nearly at my 600 item cap for Strident Springs just decorating the garden (those tiny flowers don't go very far). I have no slots left for the interior of the house.
- Master Writ quest dialog auto-popup on loot. This needs to die an immediate and painful death.
- Inability to abandon Master Writs. There should be a way to get the Master Writ back in your inventory if you abandon the quest. I currently can't do any Blacksmithing master writs for a month on my main character because I accidentally accepted a very rewarding 9 trait master writ on my 8 trait toon instead of my 9 trait one.
- Invisible walls. I want to climb the cliffs and waterfalls in Strident Springs. Getting half-way up only to be stopped by an invisible barrier makes me sad.
