Completionist

Hi,

So, I'm still new to the game and am curious in a sense of wondering if it's possible to be a 'completionist' on one single character rather than having to make alternate characters for things. I'm not sure what the maximum is on skillpoints that are able to be invested in different skills/trees/proficiency.

Also - what's an efficient way of levelling without feeling like gimping my character when it comes to playing end-game? I'm trying to find guides online but they only contain power-levelling strats which I am okay with doing, however I also see posts saying questing is the way to go in terms of developing a stable and strong toon. Any advice helps.. thanks.

P.S. Can skill points be reallocated later down the line in-case I specialized incorrectly? (or going back to the first question, is there enough skill points to allocate them all into each tree)?

Yes you can re-allocate (respec) skill points. There are not enough for everything but there are more than enough to go around for whatever build you're planning.

I guess collecting all the achievements, clearing all over-world locations would go towards being a completionist. It's up to you though as there aren't any defined parameters. I can't say for definite, but they should all be completable on a single character (achievements, I mean). Some will take forever, some will also require help from other people.

You can reallocate skills for reasonable payment whenever you want.

There are tons of skill points, so you can finish whatever you want on one toon. I mean, you can put in all armor and weapon lines eventually(but not morph all of them), as well as max out all crafts without problem.

There are two probably the longest grind for completionist - maxing your PvP level and master angler, so you might want to do it along the way.

Ditto from above on skill points...there are plenty. If you are a completionist, you should get very familiar with Achievements found in your journal. It's easier to do some of these as you work your way through the game knowing what to look for. For example, there's a set of achievements that require you to interact with specific NPCs in every zone. Having at least a vague idea of what to look for as you progress may save you from having to back track to complete some achievement you overlooked from not knowing about it. A good example is:
    Achievement.......Points......... Description
48px-ON-icon-achievement-Nose_Dive.png Nose Diver.... 5...... Jump from the nose of the Weeping Giant.

edit: Master Angler is easy compared with getting all monster collectibles. One last word...if you are on PC there are some very helpful addons that can be used with some achievements. Feel free to reach out if you have questions. I have a fair amount of achievement points, 17k+, which is still a long way from all there is.

There actually appears to be enough skill points for everything. Cyrodiil ranking alone gives 50 skill points total, don't forget.

Hey, thanks a lot for the reply! I'll start sifting through what I can do in my journal :)

I'm the same way. You can go to this site:https://eso-database.com/en/ register for free (they have an addon you have to download), and that tracks everything for you and then some. I use it and despite the tracking in game, I find the site much easier to understand :)

If you're on PC/Mac NA add me. Forum name and game name are the same
Feel free to add me. I'm part of the Gummy Guars PC/Mac NA server. Master crafter and working on getting 9 traits on everything

There aren't enough skill points to learn all skills.

But skills can be respected relatively cheaply. So you can learn and max all skills but not have them all bought and instantly available to you all the time.

One character can learn all achievements, though that requires a MASSIVE amount of time. We're also not entirely certain about festival achievements but I think it's likely those will be made available again every year so new players don't miss out on them permanently.

There are two potential limitations with achievements.

Some achievements are missable, eg. on the Ebonheart Pact newbie island.

If you're playing a bosmer and don't want to go to hippie hell, you technically shouldn't ever become a vampire or a werewolf and there are achievements for levelling each of those skill lines.

The fastest way to level presently is to join what's called a dolmen train. On a map like Auridon just say x in zone chat and you'll be auto-invited to a team if there's any running.

Basically you just run dolmens ad nauseum. It's a bit boring but it does get you to 50 quickly. Then you want to keep going for CP 160 which is effectively the 'max level' when it comes to equipment.

Whether you want to or not is up to you. The big advantage is that you can get yourself some decent gear and stick with it, without having to constantly upgrade based on whatever random junk you've looted.

The upcoming festival will probably have a double xp bonus. That's the best time to jump on one of those trains.

Dolmen trains are not good for getting xp, questing is probably faster at least if you also kill plenty.
Closing the dolmen the first time give lots of xp, closing it with an small group give lots of xp, closing it with more than 20 others does not.
Killing lots of enemies in public dungeons or other places with lots of them is probably fastest.

However enjoy the quests on your first character you are not in an hurry,

this site has various leveling guides mostly to make you stronger while leveling up, helpful so you can kill groups or enemies or quest bosses.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

I'm doing everything on one character, and I've found that skill points are plentiful. I've already gotten enough skill points to max out all six of my crafting skills, plus put plenty of points into my weapon, armor and several other skill lines. You don't have to worry about there not being enough skill points. There are plenty. :)

Same here I have 310 skill points and there is still a lot I can get from pvp and I have all crafts lvled all skills I need for pvp and pve and some fun skills for passives like the thieves guild and stuff you can really do everything on one character.

I make a little over 360 to be gained but over 500 needed. I am including everything morphed and DLC. I did write it up and will c&p it in if you like, I'll leave it out for now as it's a tad messy.

Thanks guys for all of the incredibly helpful information! Although it is a shame that there are 'missable' achievements. As for right now I'm trying to focus on levelling, I've been questing and killing mobs at a linear rate.. however I've seen some guides saying to go somewhere called "Skyreach" with higher-ups to advance quickly. Is there somewhere specific I should look to find a group for that dungeon or is it a solo type of thing?

    Thanks again

The hardest achievement to get is the hidden one.
It's the one recently discovered for reading all of the lore in the game (2000?). First you have to remember to use all of your quest items for lore content, search quest locations before they are locked away again (although ZOS has been moving lore out of quest areas once complete), and check every bookcase, nook, and cranny
