It's not a rip-off if you just buy it in the game with in-game gold. It's totally free that way. :p

Even then still feels like a rip off, Swtor 2.0 houses ftw

Lol, you mean the "Hook-system"? All housing looked the exactly same, absolutely no customibility, and if you wanted to put a deco where there were no hooks, too bad.

You're 100% confirmed troll if you referenced the WORST HOUSING IN MMOs to date.

    Troll detected. Unfollowing post.

It's exactly the same, except for the hook system yes but you do realize that no one bothers to visit each others houses every day and take the time to visit others right?

I think I spent 12,000 on a apartment in AD just for giggles. They are pretty worthless right now, but here hoping ZoS will eventually add more reasonable things to own a house.

What is wrong with including the freebees - I own 4 including the 3 free closets.

Will be purchasing a manor over the weekend, potentially also a couple of other conveniently located properties to use as free wayshrines - nothing else to spend my in game gold on B)

And I have never played any other MMO's, so cannot compare but I don't see the need for anyone to leave 'anti housing' comments in this thread. Sure, leave a response to say you have none, but we don't need the negative comments.

    4 in total.

2 are the free rooms (I don't have a character in EP yet.

Mathiisen Manor and Barbed Hook Private Room

I own all the housing in Auridon

That's all I'm buying for now as I'm concentrating on decorating Mathiisen Manor and it's bloody huge.

Not sure what house I'll buy next, but Autumn’s-Gate is a real contender.

This is easily the best housing system I've seen in an MMO since UO. I hated the hook system in LOTRO. The house decorating tool is so powerful and some of the furnishing items are just stunning. I'm genuinely enjoying decorating my house as another aspect of ESO.

Swg was the best housing system to date from what i've played, you could visit players houses anytime you wanted just as long as they left the door open (Unlocked) even while they're offline.

Zero, not even the dingy apartment.

At this point housing in this game is not worth the gold, the money, or the investment of time.

    None.

I have enough gold to buy a mid-range one but master writs are trickling in so slowly that it could be two months before I can kit out a home with crafting stations. And I'm waiting for the next crown store sale to buy a banker assistant.

After that I'll think about buying a home. But by then Morrowind will be nearly out and maybe I'd prefer one of those homes.

    Zero.

It's the biggest rip off in the game, second only to crown crates.

Most functions don't work in home, still have to go to town anyway, it is 99% cosmetic fluff.

I'll wait until they make them actually have a function or two.

But, I'm happy for those that like it.

Housing is supposed to be cosmetic fluff lol.

Beyond the 3 tiny inn rooms, I also own:

*Sleek Creek (my fav for the view from the deck, the location, the ambiance (a river runs thru it!), & the outlaw refuge right outside my front door.
*Mournoth Keep for the generous sized house & yard--huge for a medium house. Wayshrine just outside, too, plus lots of stuff to farm and a nearby dolmen.
*Cyrillac Jungle House (Nice yard, also just a hop, skip & jump to a wayshrine. Inside is small, though.
*Humblemud for the convenient bank & crafting stations right across the lane. And the node farming!

All this for less than half the gold my husband paid for Hunding's. I'm having a lot of fun farming recipes, crafting, and decorating, too.
  • silvermistktralasub17_ESO
Beyond the 3 free ones, I've only so far purchased the Forgotten Stronghold, for two reasons. The first was that I liked the style, but the second, perhaps better one, that that was my first choice, was that it's a hop, skip and a jump away from the crafting stations that I use for most of my characters' gear. I like the Willow's Path set as my primary set, and, especially having 3 characters still under 50th level, I'm going to have to make several more trips there to get the gear made for them when I'm leveling them again. Having a fast way to get in there, without swimming across a lake and jumping down a waterfall, is a nice thing.
