[Plea to ZOS] I love the Black Sacrament Daily Quests, but...

Personally, I rather like the Black Sacrament daily's.

I've done enough of them to get the full slate of DB titles (Executioner, Bane of the Gold Coast, Silencer, etc.) and the Box of Forbidden Tools.

It's not that hard once you get used to it, and when looked at objectively, is no more tedious than any of the other Daily's, but I understand that they aren't going to be popular with everyone. Everyone has their own tastes, and the Sacrament quests are not going to appeal to everybody.

That said, I do have one issue: The Dark Brotherhood Motif Page drop rate. It's abysmal.

I routinely finish the Sacrament Quests perfectly; spotted zero times, main objective and all secondary objectives completed, and the RNG chance to get a page has had the bottom drop out of it. The Sacraments used to be pretty reliable for delivering pages. I do the Sacraments across three characters, and out of those three, at least 1-2 of them would get a page every day.

Over the last two months though, that chance has dropped significantly, and I'm lucky to pull a page every three (3) days on just one character.

The Sithis equipment I always get won't even sell at Trading Guilds. Even when priced at 2k or less, nobody wants this Set, as there are much better Sets out there that drop. So I've taken to deconstructing the Sithis item Set pieces I get, which has given me a small mountain of Black Beeswax for crafting the DB Motif. But even I can only stockpile so much of that crafting mat, and as a consolation prize for the Sacrament reward urns, the Beeswax is really starting to lose its luster.

So while I love the Black Sacraments, I have to wonder: Pages have dropped off in frequency, and I've got a flood of Sithis Set items that I can't even give away, what incentive is there for me to keep doing the Sacrament Quests?

I love them, I really do. But there needs to be an incentive put back into them, because the meager item rewards I get just aren't cutting it any more.

Please, ZOS. Put some love back into the Black Sacrament Quests!

    I so agree.

And when you put the two in comparison like that, the disparity between the two reward sets becomes even more apparent.

@ZOS_GinaBruno Please, please get with the developers in charge of the Dark Brotherhood DLC and have a concerted discussion about how to correct this! I love the Sacrament daily quests, and I'd love them even more if the rewards were more worth my time like the Thieves Guild daily Heists are!

Please, ZOS? I know it may be too late to get this squeezed into Morrowind (or even earlier than that), but also it may not be too late.

But this needs to change. Make the Sacraments rewarding again!

I agree. I hate them so much and so I bought all the Dark Brotherhood motifs from guild traders. Getting the rest of the associated achievements plus the reward drops are just not worth it to me to go through the aggravation of doing the sacraments. I'm not a patient player when it comes to watching and waiting for NPCs to move in such a way that I don't get seen, and so I wreck it every single time. However, better rewards might be enticing enough for me to actually try and do a good job.

Until then, sacraments are a big nooooooope.

    Thank you for your input.

I think quite a few people are in the same boat as you (and partially, me), in that; the Sacraments don't see a lot of play time, because the rewards are not equal to the time/effort spent in completing the task.

I differ (as I said above) in that I love the DB, and I do the daily Sacrament quests out of love of the Faction. But even with my love for the task, I freely admit that the rewards are paltry when compared to the time/effort of completing it.

And I do it on three (3) characters.

The rewards for the DB Sacraments needs to change. I know loot drop chances are constructed in a manner similar to carrot and stick, but with the way the Sacrament rewards are set right now, it discourages performing the task rather than encouraging a player to play through it.

Simple Solution: Completing a sacrament earns you a "Mark of Sithis". If you complete secondary obj, you get 2 marks. Do it without being detected, you get 5 marks. Turn in marks to get pages of the motif from a vendor, or save marks and buy the whole motif book for reduced price compared to buying individually.

ZoS did this with writ vouchers, so I don't know why this would be hard to add to the game. Token systems are much more rewarding and I know vMA could use one.

    Edited for clarity.

It's not a bad idea. I would be OK with ZOS at least considering this option as well.

While I more approve of making the Sacrament rewards match the drop rates of Heist rewards, this is a good idea as well.

Either way, something needs to be done to make the Sacraments much more rewarding!

Is it just me, or are the Heist missions a whole order of magnitude harder than the Dark Brotherhood dailies? I do the latter every day, and usually complete them fully, but I've never been able to fully complete a heist.

Might want to think about some thieves gear. Look at Shadow Dancer and Night Mother's Embrace (I think it's embrace, I know it's the Night Mother dropped set.) These two sets of gear combined will make these dailies very easy.

    Edit

Motif farming can be a very time consuming task. May I suggest, pick one Motif to farm at a time. Run 5 or 6 characters through that farm. For example, if you don't already have multiple characters setup. Create something like 5 characters get them to level 10 and park them inside the DB. Run the daily on the first character, once that is done, logout and login with a different character and have that character run the daily. You will greatly increase your chances of getting a Motif. I have had to do this very thing for several Motifs and I can tell you it helps.

I don't see why we cannot just get paid with gold aswell. A nice 6-12k for completion. Because if you spent that same time say farming instead, you would get alot more gold.

Increased Gold reward alongside fixing the Motif pages drop rate wouldn't be bad either. Because, you're right. If I spent the same amount of time stealing as I do running a Heist or in a Sacrament, I get much more Gold from that illicit activity than I could ever hope to get from a Heist or Sacrament.
