There is a guide somewhere when someone tested prosperous vs other traits, and impen won in gold getting since the cost of repairing your gear is higher than the gain prosperous gets you. Prosperous is utterly useless.

And after a quick search I found the thread :)https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/273766/why-prosperous-is-preposterous

IMO the training trait and the prosperous trait should be merged to give 10% xp boost AND 10% gold boost at purple level. It's only useful for grinding so why not make it the grinding trait to end all grinding traits.

But yeah, it does obviously make a difference when you're grinding for gold to get 70% more from drops.

Obviously not, look at my post above...

Yeah, I have gear that I upgraded to legendary level and is prosperous for farming gold in group dungeons. Basically, I farm for gear in the dungeons and then have the added benefit of pulling a bunch of mobs and getting a ton of gold . . . I have to crunch some numbers on how much gold I can make in an hour . . . I will try that when the servers come back up.

Sure do, have a full set in gold x7 and with ESO Plus too I get a 69.5% increase so farm imperial soldiers (who give the most money on kill) provides me with on average 50-70k per hour depending on other farmers in the area.

Had 4.6mil prior to Homestead...I may be richer if I didn't spend anything but sometimes you need to spend money to make money :)

If you have tons of repair kits from the daily writs, repair cost kind of becomes irrelevant and this comparison no longer applies.

Prosperous trait needs reworking. Either increase the extra gold it gives or give it a better chance of dropping rare items, or a combination of both.

No trait should be completely useless.

What kind of comparison is that? :D Sell your repair kits and it becomes relevant again, you'll most likely net even more money selling 'em.

Prosperous literally should be changed to give 100% per piece on monster drops to be taken seriously.

May seem extreme but do the math ....but no one asked for this trait in the way it performs.

Imperials do very little if any damage at all as they are usually dead before they even get a chance to attack. Remember its used to farm gold, bosses or bigger mobs don't give any more gold then other smaller mobs so why waste your time on them... just go for the low hitting ones.

Whoever did this guide needs to look at the numbers again... actually don't, there is enough people grinding the spots as it is! :)

Yes. It's a small +% of gold that ends up being a large sum in the long run :)

I'm running full prosperous gear (purple) farming gold form mobs. It's not so profitable, net profit is about 20-30k of gold/hour in right location (including loot sold to merchants). But you can sell intricate gear via guild kiosk, that adds 2-3k.

Also don't repair damaged gear with merchant, use repair kits instead when piece is broken completely, they are pretty cheap (100g/kit in guild kiosk).

If you're farming in location with expensive sets you can loot something very expensive.

So basically it's a waste of time.

    Hello:

Here is what I did . . . spent 30 mins farming gold in Crimson Cove, spent all the time killing mobs exclusively, did not go after chests or bosses. One time I was wearing full prosperous, the other time I was not wearing any prosperous, here is the breakdown:

30 mins gold farming with full prosperous
    15460 gold from mobs
    1652 repair costs
    2360 gold from vendor trash
    Net gold 16142

30 mins gold farming with no prosperous
    10452 gold from mobs
    1499 repair costs
    3363 gold from vendor trash
    Net gold 12316

So gold farming with prosperous seems to be in line with 20-30k per hour that sigsergv suggested. I will have to try famring imperial soldiers soon

The problem is, he cherry picked the mobs to overland Wrothgar Mobs which give the least amount of gold. I have been in Public Dungeons where I can pull 180 to 200 gold from a mob grouping, and net about 12K an hour from mobs, after repairs, not counting what I get from vendoring the loot. Of course, Vendoring is not buffed by Prosperous.

Does not mean Prosperous is a good trait, it just means that the results of that thread are artificially skewed.
