Title says it all. It drops with a Health Regen enchant which isn't particularly useful.

It would be great to be able to use it, the vocal taunting from the Lord Warden while using it is pretty funny, and it's a nice looking item.

Yeh, when it was endurance the same was the case. Shame really, looks cool and the voice thing was pretty cool

I could see dying being a bit of work, but enchanting is probably a single value they have to switch. If their point in making these part of sets is to have them actually used, to have quest rewards actually be meaningful then they need to fix this and any others they might have missed in the One Tamriel patch.

@ZOS_GinaBruno just wondering if this is intended or a bug?

This is as far as I've gotten with customer service after bug reporting this. The exchange is pretty priceless. All real names have been removed to avoid any sense that anybody has been named or shamed. Oldest is first, my words are bolded, CS is in quotes. Throughout the exchange the email chain was preserved so the constant misinterpretations are the result of not bothering to read.

Grievous leeching ward can't be enchanted or dyed.

Previously reported, but has not been addressed.

    Greetings ,

Thank you for contacting The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited Team! It’s always a pleasure to hear from you! I am sorry to hear about the trouble you are having. Never fear however, as I can assure you that we will do our best to help you try and solve this issue.

Some enchantments can’t be replaced. This is represented on items with a lock icon above the enchantment. However, any player-crafted enchantment can be replaced. Traits on items are permanent, though.

Some glyphs are also only able to be used on certain level items. You can see this in the tooltip.

Please, do not hesitate to reach out to us again if you have any other questions or concerns regarding The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited or our services!

    Best regards,

    **************

I’m not currently at my gaming PC to check it’s current status, but there was no lock Icon above the enchantment on the Grievous Ward when it was part of the endurance set before One Tamriel and it’s odd jewelry enchant couldn’t be replaced then either. Might have been patched. Typical shields have take a max stat glyph. If your desire as a company is to make these drops meaningful, locking them to useless enchants isn’t the way to do it.

Back to your response, item level wasn’t an issue, item type wasn’t an issue, lock icon was nonexistant, and oh God how I know that traits are forever. Two of the traits are even worse than forever if that’s possible.

I did report using the /bug in-game yesterday evening. I can also confirm that there is no lock icon on the Grievous Leeching Ward.

I’d really like to know if this is a bug or if the item is working (or not working) as intended.

I must not have made myself clear, I do not have an issue with the lock item feature.

What I have is an issue with an item that looks as though it ought to be enchantable but isn't. I'm refering to the Grievous leeching Ward that drops from Imperial City prison. It drops with a useless enchant that cannot be replaced. This is detailed thoroughly in the chain of emails below should anybody deign to bother reading them. There is no UI indication that the enchant is not supposed to be able to be changed.

I would like very much to know if the situation I am experiencing is intended or is a bug. I will not consider this resolved without an answer to that question. If that otherwise very cool quest reward is intended to be decon trash because of it's junk enchant, great, let me know so i can send the Lord Wardens stinking "animus' back to the waters of Oblivion from whence he came at the crafting table and save one more inventory slot.

    Hey there *******,

Thank you for contacting The Elder Scrolls Online support team with your query regarding the Grievous Ward item being changed in set. I am sorry you experienced this issue.

The Grievous Ward was changed in Update 12 to be part of the leeching plate set instead of the endurance set. Therefore the set effect on the item is intended to be there. There doesn't seem to be an enchantment on it, so if you are having issues with that, please attach a screenshot with the enchant and we can investigate further.

If you have any questions please let me know.

    Warm Regards,
    *******

Good God, I’m not sure if I’m being trolled here or not.

The Grievous Leeching Ward is now part of the Leeching Plate set, this is not news. I’ve referenced that several times throughout this long email chain.

It now drops with a Health recovery enchant just like it had when it was the Grievous Ward. I repeat, it drops with a Jewelry enchant on a shield.
What I would like to do but am unable to do is, replace the useless jewelry enchant on the shield with a nice new Prismatic enchant that I’ve already crafted. When I right-click on the item to enchant it, the option to do so simply doesn’t appear.

I still haven't been able to get an answer to the simple question: I can't enchant the Grievous Leeching Ward, is this a bug or is working as intended? @ZOS_GinaBruno is it possible to get an answer to that question?

No, I wasn't. That said, I don't think it wise to specify exactly who, besides Chet I was speaking to, since I'd prefer not to have this closed for naming and shaming anybody, staff especially.

I thought Health Recovery was a weird thing to put on a shield, but it hadn't occurred to me that it's actually a Jewellery enchantment rather than an Armor enchantment! That *has* to be a bug... Right?

It certainly looks like a bug to me, not that they'll acknowledge that. I spent days going around in circles with bug reports to customer service having each new communication treated as if the previous one never happened.

It would be neat if it could be replaced with another jewelry enchant. That would be an interesting addition to the game if a few selected quest rewards allowed abnormal enchants. I just want to put a prismatic on it and use it, but I can't because it's got an enchant that for an Altmer Vampire Saptank is beyond redundant and doesn't even belong on a shield in the first place.

So what you're saying is that ZoS wasn't paying attention to what the customer wanted, or was saying? So pretty much ESO forums as usual.

Asides from the enchant on the grievous ward, I've been having issue with its unique item status. I have 2 of them and wanted to front and back bar the thing, but can only have one on my toon.

It won't take any enchant at all, it's locked with that health regen enchant.

I'm curious why it's still identified as a "unique" item. Would like to be able to have one on the front bar and one on the back bar. But as it is you are only permitted to have one in your inventory at a time, due to the "unique" identifier.
