Weapon/Spell Power Enchants

So I play a DPS character, obviously lol but I have a question about the Weapon or Spell Power Enchants for jewelry and weapons. Is there a cap on these? Would I be wasting my time having 3 pieces of jewelry and 2 weapons with weapon damage enchants on them? If so, which enchants are more effective, jewelry or weapon enchants?

Thanks in advance to everyone for taking the time to help me out! I appreciate it!

I wouldn't think There's a cap, I run spell power on my jewelry slots. It's just a tradeoff against other possible stats.

Enchants on jewelry are applied constantly. Enchants on weapons are not. Also if you are dual wielding place only one Weapon enchant on one weapon such as Weapon power and on the other weapon put a different enchant such as Fouling or Poison. Weapon enchants have to be proc'd and last for 5 seconds which happens to be the cool down of weapon enchants so...to keep the weapon enchants proc'ing you have to do a light attack every five seconds or so.

Put it on all three if you want. There is no cap to Spell or Weapon Power Enchants on Jewelry. Then, you can even use one on your weapon and it will fire off every 5? seconds or so. Let them stack baby.

Now, Cost Reduction does seem to have a cap, as you can build a character so that a low cost skill should have 0 cost, but it never gets to 0. Like using Champ points and Seducer gets your skill cost to 600, using three Gold Skill Cost reductions at 201 each does not make it 0. Probably because fixed cost reduction is taken before percentages are.

Anyway, I bring up cost reduction as that is a good thing to mix in if your having sustain issues is to use one or two cost reduction glyphs with your power glyph(s).

    should be like this:

    stam:
    3x jewlery - dmg
    dw mainhand - dmg
dw offhand - poison (the ench dont stack or double proc so you need different ones if you have dw on)
    bow - dmg

    mag:
    3x jewlery - dmg
    2x staff - dmg

Thank you for the Info I try to light attack in between every 1-2 abilities. Wasn't aware of the issue with having two damage glyphs however so thank you for that info.

That is good to know, I may have to play around with this a little to see if I can improve my build further. Its nice to know Ive been using 2 weapons but only 1 enchant so I will be changing that. Thanks!

As I said above this is news to me so I will be looking to change this tonight, Is disease enchant best because Stam DKs have a focus on poison damage? Or is this more of a preference thing?

Somebody did some testing of DW and Enchants. From what I remember of that discussion:

Basically, skill attacks will proc only the main hand, with the exception I think of Dual Slashes in the DW line, which can proc both enchants. Light or Heavy Attacks can proc both enchants.

So, it all depends on what your doing.

But, you need to have different enchants on each weapon in DW, or they will not ever proc or proc rarely.

So jewelry enchants don't proc, right? They are added as soon as you wear said jewelry?

And in order to get both weapon enchants to proc you have to light weave. Skills will proc main hand weapon and light attacking can cause both weapons to proc, sometimes simultaneously. Am I understanding that correctly?

    Yep.

Although each enchant has it's own cool down, so they can get out of sync as it were. Think of it this way, to have any hope of consistently proccing the off hand enchant, you have to light weave every few seconds. However since your best sustain is when your weaving in between most every skill then your doing this anyway, right?

Me I don;t worry about the enchants, they proc when they proc, its a bonus to me. I just worry about my rotations, weaving and animation canceling. That is enough for me. But I am old and irritable and I have to keep an eye on my lawn for those pesky kids.

^^^^ last paragraph made me laugh, that's awesome haha! ^^^^

Yes I'm still working on perfecting my rotation but I am light weaving between most every skill I use, this is also helping me sustain much more and after every 3-4 light attacks I try to work in a heavy attack to regain a bit of stamina as well as using the passive that gives you 5% stamina when using a particular skill line ability (drawing a complete blank at the moment, I want to say ardent flame but I know that's not right, anyways I use igneous shield for a little extra protection along with the stamina regen)

If I have weapon damage enchantment on my weapon and I use a stamina weapon ability and the enchantment procs... Is the extra weapon damage added to that ability or only after that attack?

I thought this would help me to read but since I don't even know what light weaving is , I'm gonna bow out lol :0)

    Ok easy mode-

Light attack to proc enchant on weapon. Don't enchant any other weapons with spellweaponbuff. Weaving is light attack skill block repeat.

Cool down is like 5 seconds so weaving means you are going to activate the glyph asap.
