Crown store - why do PC players pay more?
I was checking crown prices and noticed that for Xbox and PS 4 1500 crowns is $14.99 CAD
When I selected the PC price it's $17.99 CAD.
Why are PC players being discriminated against especially when we were the ones who paid for this game and supported it in the first place?

I think a class action lawsuit my be required. They owe all the PC players that have been overpaying.

✭ZOS can't dictate to Sony and MS what to charge. As a side note it is the opposite in Australia. It is more for crowns on console than it is on PC or at least it was last time I checked.

To be fair I complained to myself when they jacked up the sub prices for Canadians too.
Back in the day we paid the said as the US do... But in CAD. Was great. Now a 6 month sub is like $97 or something.

✭I think the brits got the best deal out of brexit (I voted in btw). The pound is currently worth $1.25, 5500 crowns costs £23.99, 23.99 x 1.25 = 29.99 but the US get charged $39 for 5500 crowns afaik.
Just to rub salt in your wounds my sub costs me £8.99 per month, 8.99 x 1.25 = 11.24. So I pay $11.24 per month for my sub PC | EU1 -

✭✭✭✭✭It looks like the Canadian PC subscription was increased back in March 2015 to reflect changes in the exchange rate between the Canadian and American dollar. For whatever reason the console subscriptions are still being charged at a 1:1 rate.
Which is weird. I'd heard that the PC and PS4 subscriptions were the same, and Xbox slightly more, no matter what currency you were using.
But I don't know how to check anything except the price on PC in UK pounds, that's the only one I can buy so it's the only one the website shows me. You do realise that before the referendum the pound was usually worth almost 1.5 dollars right? This is why we see digital games sold at max retail while the physical versions are $19.99.
As for the original question: I can only speculate here as I don't live in Canada, but it may have to do with the way services are rendered under Canadian law. It's highly likely VAT is higher along with the exchange rate fee charged by CC companies, since payment is going directly to ZoS.
On console, we cannot pay ZoS directly. We have to use the service offered by the console owner, who then transacts to process the payment. It's possible the VAT and fees are lower due to the higher volume of players on console.
