Trading sub-forum

I'm just curious, still new to the forums here, but with everyone constantly asking about auction houses I was wondering why we cant just have a sub-forum to buy and sell here on site? Like I said sorry if this has already been addressed but I think it would be a major boost to trading in this game if you could come to the forums and post a few or a ton of items you are looking to buy or sell. You could divide it into 6 sub-categories, 2 for each platform, 1 NA and 1 EU (honestly it could just be one though). Aside from the guild traders which I do alright on (hate paying dues but that's what you got to do to sell stuff without spamming chat) I try to sell stuff on reddit which is an absolute joke there are like 12 ppl from xbox on there that try to get stuff for deep discounts (30-50% less than selling in game) and its just not a good selling environment. I think this would offer a healthy alternative as all you people in this forum are actively playing ESO. I have yet to find an ESO forum with more active users than this one or any better trading alternative to using reddit.

What do you guys think?

I would love to hear your opinions, thanks!

That's what Ive seen that's why I think it would make since on this forum since its dedicated to ESO as it is there website/forum. Highest known (to me) concentration of ESO players, and I'm willing to bet we all got stuff we want to buy or sell.

Trading of any kind isn't allowed on these forums. I genuinely do not know why. Does anyone know a reason why they won't allow it? Have they stated why? Or has it always gone wrong for other MMOs so its standard practice to not allow it? Honestly just curious about this. :)

I think it would be a great way for crafters to advertise their services, they make a post, say they are a 9 trait crafter of say heavy Armour, and know a bunch of styles, or maybe they are a furnisher now? People could comment on their post and request items from them.

If the issue is something to do with agreeing to exchange gold on a platform not within the game, then why can't players advertise what they offer for free? This is allowed for werewolf and vampire bites for instance.

I think it would be awesome for the economy too but that's just me lol. As to your last statement I could see an issue if you were trying to get paid with real money through paypal or something but I don't see an issue with trading ESO items for ESO currency (gold), if you cant agree on a price then both parties move on if you can agree on a price there would be 2 options COD or meet and trade. I really don't see how that would cause any issues.

No trading on the forums is news to me cause I'm new to the forums but I would be curious to know why and what the issue with having a specific sub-forum for trade/buy/sell purposes is or how it would/could be a bad thing. Just kind of thinking out loud, it makes sense in my mind but if I'm wrong please show me the error of my ways.

Me and a former guild buddy were thinking of setting up a professionally made ESO trading website/forums as we had the skills/knowledge/money to do it.

However sadly we realised the level of interest from most players wouldn't be worth the investment.

I think the real downfall of a site like that is traffic, its hard to get a ton of players to traffic a specialty site like that, I think that's where the real potential for this forum is. They already have the base, everyone here plays ESO, and maybe this could help quell some of the Auction house grumbling. Personally Id rather have a forum to look in rather than an auction house but that's just me I'm sure some people agree and disagree with that but it would be something and it wouldn't take a lot of work to implement another section of the forum as compared to adding something to the game. I know it doesn't kjust magically happen lol.

Defiance had a major trading sub forum within Trions original website forum.
It was fantastic to post screenshots, specs, and price of the items.

Trading was amazing and this DID not break the game in the later patched build.

I can easily say that the Trading system in Defiance was perfect and incredibly rewarding.

Trading forums and independent trading sites outside of the game are no substitute for a properly functioning in-game trading system that is open to all. That's what ESO needs.
