Most versatile class?

Curious what the most versatile class is that can play roles of tank, DPS, heal all equally.

I agree Templar is the most versatile. Seeing that it is also the only "true" healer class

Night Blade. A lot of people think it's just a gank class, but t's quite versatile. Healing can be a lot of fun since you can have one bar for DPS that also does a good job of healing and another bar for the resto staff. Stacking syphoning skills and it's passives make for good healing. They have a few passives that make for good tanking too plus their self-heals.

Do you mean end game, or in general? In general, it's hard to pick just one class. All 4 classes bring something valuable to each of the three roles, or else vMA wouldn't work. Every class has options for healing, playing tanky, and dealing damage.

If you mean meta, magicka DPS are the show runners, and DKs have tanking where templars have healing, so likely vote for one of those two classes.

Templar...specifically dark elf. Top end Dps for Pve, can go stamina or magicka build, and can be very competative in cyrodil. You can build a tank, dps, or healer...

Magicka templar can play all 3 at a high level. Best healer, 2nd best dps, 2nd best tank, overall, most user friendly and versatile class.

On the paper : Warden : support class do all thing, does it do well ?

    ** Group content oriented :

Otherwise templar is so good. Templar : Healing PvE PvP , best vTrial dps, second tank, second for solo content, best class for group content

DK : best tank, healing group, very good cc, very good for dueling, very useful dps

    **Solo content oriented :

Nigthblade : third solo content, healing solo and group very good, tank very good, dps, good crowd control

Sorcerer : healing group, solo content and dungeonss, tank pvp, best CC, invocations, very good for dueling, best one target dps

    I'd say:

Templar > Nightblade > Dragon Knight > Sorcerer

But imho you can make more builds with Nightblades than with Templars.

Currently the choice is really which class is least nerfed/bugged resulting in under performance.

MagSorc and Mag DK seem to have survived the most unhindered by this terrible patch.

"Most versatile" - that depends what do you understand by that.
Keep in mind this: Every class can be everything - DPS, Healer or Tank.

There is no good answer for this question.
Most people will say that the most universal class will be Tamplar. This is because of the Templar play-style that is relatively easy to understand and master. However if you for example learn how to play Night Blade and how to utilize its play-style - then you will say that Night Blade is also versatile class.

So... there is no good answer for this question. It all depends of your preferences.

No, Igneous Shield is a great skill that provides Major Mending as well - DK healing is rather preventive whereas Templar healing is reactive. And tbh there is nothing more boring in game than healing as a Templar. If they'd remove BoL they could make it more interesting but...

If we are talking about being just "decent" at every role, then Templar. In terms of meta, Mag Sorc has always been (and will always be) top tier in PvE and PvP.

Templar>Sorc>DK>NB assuming magicka as the primary attribute, as it is the most versitile.
maybe NB can do things equally, but it does nothing well. Sorcs make great tanks, great dps, and an acceptable healer. DKs can be good at most anything, but have to choose between being a very robust tank or an insanely squishy dps. I grant that NB can do some interesting things with combo roles (aka healing tanking and dpsing all at the same time, Ive seen it) but they don't do anything the best other than ganking, which only works in pvp. Templars can do absolutely anything very well, and are the 100% best healers.

Obsidian Shard (the healing morph of Stone Fist) has gotten increased speed in Homestead. I think you still can block or avoid it. It's a great ST heal, yes, but it's very costly. I tried playing with it and in PvE it was okay but Resto Staff heals work most times better than Obsidian Shard.

This question always going to be bias to what you know and play.

I like the Sorc as the most versitile.... My Mag Sorc is set up to play any role with a change gear and skills. I've successfully played all roles in every four man dungeon. I tend to struggle tanking vet trials though, so I heal or DPS them.

So it can still NOT heal you when your life depends on it? Here's what happens:

I have low health, cast a shield, then fire off shard. It hits the enemy, but my health doesnt move. I see that my shield has absorbed 7-10k of damage? Does it still glitch like this?

Curious what the most versatile class is that can play roles of tank, DPS, heal all equally.

The styles vary, but all the classes can do everything because of how the non-class skill lines, weapons, armor, and champion points work together.

Templars may be favored for healing, but if people know what they're doing with a resto staff, being a Templar is not required.

Dragonknights are great for tanking, but any other class using the right armor, skills, CPs and attributes can tank.

The same can be said for Nightblades and Sorcerers. All the classes are very versatile as long as you use the right tools for the job.
