master writ vouchers bound to character

Wouldn't it make more sense for these to be bound to account, not character? The current system means that it only makes sense to complete master writs on a single character, which means one character must be designated almost exclusively for crafting if you intend to complete writs from multiple skill lines, and further limits the opportunity for RP by having different crafting specialists in your roster of characters.

AP is the only comparable non-tradeable currency, and to be honest I don't see why this is character-bound either. If I earn 100k AP with one character, and 100k AP with another character, I don't have enough to buy a monster item from the golden... makes no sense! The whole idea of currency is that it is a standardised tradeable item, which should be freely exchangeable between all persons. Same goes with master writ vouchers.

You *should* be able to say no to a writ, as in saying "goodbye" to your writ when it comes up, store it in your bank, and get it on another character.

Can definitely refuse to do it. It will go to your inventory. You can't bank it though so best thing to do is get a guildmate or friend you trust to bounce it back to you in the mail so you can use it on the character you intend to use for master writs

Indeed, but the issue remains that you must complete all master writs on a single character if you hope to accumulate enough vouchers to buy anything decent with them. If someone happens to have a breton consumables crafter and orcish equipment crafter (for flavour, obviously), one must give their writs to the other to complete or their combined purchasing power is effectively halved.

I just put two in my bank last night. You can definitely bank them, no need to bounce through the mail.

The system would be much more elegant if vouchers were an account based currency. It feels clunky and sloppy to be greatly encouraged to do them all on one character but have to cancel out of a quest pop up or be tricked into wasting the voucher. Why there is even a quest pop up to begin with boggles my mind.

ZOS needs to ask the question, "What aspect of the system breaks down if vouchers are an account based currency. Why do they NEED to be character based". Once they answer that question which I have to assume they did at some point, then we have a more clear answer. If they can't answer that question, then they might as well go ahead and make it account wide. If I can do my master writs on alts, why am I encouraged not to and even tricked into wasting my writ?

I would just be glad to get more than the one I got on the day Homestead started.
Yes Master crafter 9 traits, but no DLC/Crown motifs which is probably why they are punishing me. :(

Crown motifs don't count toward your "total completed" calculation for writ chance.

The reasoning for non-tradeable AP is to keep the war efforts in Cyrodiil segregated between alliances, even though that's not watertight (e.g. you can still trade gear bought with AP to a character of a different alliance, etc).

None of that holds for crafters, though. The current voucher system only benefits people who do all their crafting on one character only, and I don't see why ZOS would want to do that. I'm not any less dedicated to crafting just because I have different characters for different crafts. This needs to be changed asap.

LOL-yes-i had the same trouble getting anyone to understand what i was saying too. i made each character to do two crafts.i'm screwed too. it's really pointless to have the vouchers character bound rather than account bound

needs to be account based, period.

completely unnecessary - and aggravating - hoop to have to jump through.

i had two main crafters who complimented one another, now i'm forced to max one of them completely AND pick up motifs i wouldn't have otherwise bothered to learn.

    gg, zos. :/

I agree OP. ZOS, please fix this.

Yes. But the problem is that many people have different characters that are Master Crafters in different crafts. So while I can grab all the Master writs my Sorc Provisioner/Enchanter/Alchemist gets and give them to my NB who is a Clothier/Blacksmith/WW, she wouldn't be able to complete the writs because she doesn't have the required skills in the crafts that she's not a master in.
