But if they were to hypothetically remove CP permanently, I'd adapt and continue playing just like every single other patch so far. No-CP PvP is actually pretty balanced and challenging. Damage and survivability feel fine there. They just aren't limitless like with CP due to sustain limitations. God forbid you have to actually build a little regen and manage resources...
Honestly, though, we should be supporting ZOS and contributing to their testing efforts, not discussing hypotheticals.LeifErickson wrote: »For those saying that you would quit because of all your time spent grinding going to waste, did you quit when they increased the level cap to v16?
And everyone's carebear arguments just came falling apart.
"But I grinded my CP to PvP on an equal playing field with other CP-capped players!"
Well, if PvP doesn't involve CP, is everyone not on an even playing field? They aren't changing the playing field with removing CP, like they did with vet rank changes. They're leveling it. Leif just /threaded this so hard.
Yes.
I only gained Cp for PVP. I would be insulted if they removed it. Along with the work my friends put in. None of them use the forums. But I would say the 12 of us would be gone really quick.

Maybe if they reintroduced dynamic ultimate but just pulling the plug on CPs right now would require everyone to cut most their dmg and stack into sustain and would make zergs pretty much untouchable. Or they can review battle spirit and increase the amount of dmg that people would do to make up for the lack of dmg bonuses from CPs might be viable but in reality that would probably just break more than it fixes.
The power creep in this game is massively out of control. Like, I understand why you like CP: a build like yours has insane, group wiping damage, but also enough sustain to keep up shields, hit purge and be survivable. I've played the exact same spec. It's great, it's also terrible game mechanics. At this pointin ESO PvP we really can do it all, and it's just not good PvP. Infinite sustain, one shot builds, etc., all these come from CP and most would go away if CP were removed.

That's a terrible argument, level had already been raised before it was raised to v16, CP isn't the same as just raising a level cap, so the change can't be compared, even though I am all for the CP change happening.

Grinding for gear to suit up a v16 and grinding for champion points. Both are grinding, both most people hate doing. Not sure why they can't be compared.
