[Suggestion] Stationary Mounts

You have the code I saw in the PTS housing, so I'd like to see it for RP purposes. You have a large RP following. I'd love to see a command that allows the mount to appear next to you until you climb on it by using the standard commands you use for using an item in the world.

This would make it a bit more realistic in gameplay :D

I imagine most people are going to poo-poo this. They'll talk about lag, clutter, etc. The truth is, though, that something like this could be very cool if implemented correctly, and add another little thing that'd make it feel a tiny bit more like an Elder Scrolls game.

We obviously don't want issues like in Black Desert, with there being places in towns where parked horses are clustered together so thickly that you can barely move and it just looks terrible. With a few alterations, this wouldn't have to be a problem, though.

    * When a horse is called, have it run up behind us from a few feet away. Just far enough that we don't typically see it appear. We can then mount it by standing next to it and interacting.
    * Have an "auto mount" option for people who want to summon and mount their horse with a single button press.
    * When we're dismounted, have the horse stay where it is. Once we move far enough away from it, have it despawn until we call it again.
    * Allow the 'mount' key to cause a mount to come running up to us if it's still nearby and hasn't despawned.
    * Obviously, mounts would also despawn if we use a log out or use a way shrine.

With something like this in place, it'd provide a bit more of an illusion that our mount is in the world with us, without actually having a bunch of mounts constantly existing in the world all the time.

I'll be honest, I don't see it ever happening, simply because it probably won't be thought of as important enough to put the work into it. Once upon a time, though, I thought that about allowing us to pick up weapons in the open world, and they ended up doing that, so who knows.

Oh I agree it shouldn't have a physical presence because of the issue with people trying to cover vendors which happens in the game right now sadly.

The illusion thing would be what I'd expect the code to be in the game honestly because we had something similar to this in Conan in the early days (the mmo not the rpg) and it was simply awesome! Because the mounts had a physical presence though they removed it.

The illusion would be all I'd personally want :dizzy:

Yeah, same here. I don't need it to be complicated. I remember that in Age of Conan. Just make it seem like my horse is in the world with me instead of visibly sprouting out of my butt like a mushroom every time I call him, then quietly despawn him when I can't see it happening, and I'm good.
