Not sure if anyone else gets this, but there are certain avatars that *** me off because some users that use them regularly *** me off.

It's like thinking all americans are the same, or all whites are the same, etc, etc.
It's just an avatar. It is an reflection of taste or experience sure, but thinking "only *** likes x" is completely wrong. That kind of thinking will only hold you back in life.

✭✭I personally don't hate anyone on the forums, or get an influenced impression because of the same avatar being used by people. However, I DO mistake some as other users until I read the name, so its only a split second thing. When I see people with the avatar I use, I do a double take sometimes thinking "I don't remember posting in this thread"
Edit: And yes I agree with others in this thread and the many other threads and users in the past who have asked for custom avatars

Yup. I've hated this aspect of this forum since beta. I'm a visually-oriented person, so I rely on visual cues to distinguish people. Makes in hard when at least a dozen prominent forum users are using any given avatar. I think this hamstrings any feeling of community here, since no one can really completely personalize their profile when everyone looks the same.
It works in reverse, too... I always feel alarmed when someone else using my avatar says something I disagree with. Like... what if they confuse that poster for me?!

Nah, Focused and channelled hate can be one of the strongest ways to focus on specific tasks, kinda forces your mind into a "get things done" attitude. ^^
Better than paying some idiot whos just going to throw documents at you and make you fill them out to see if you "fit" a certain type of person and go from there.
